THE REST IS GIANT ROBOTS - A PODCAST THAT'S MORE THAN MEETS THE EAR.

Writer Simon Furman and artist Andrew Wildman go back to the beginning... Charting a 40-year stint in comics, TV animation, games and more, including - of course - a healthy discourse on the rise and fall and rise again of TRANSFORMERS, also now 40 years old.

In a series of roughly chronological, informal chats, Furman and Wildman relive the ups and downs and highs of lows of the creative life, spotlighting key moments in their respective, and joint, careers - many of which, naturally, involve giant, transforming robots.

Nothing is off-limits, as Furman and Wildman delve deep into their (unreliable) memories, presenting a humorous but warts and all story of life inside the comics biz that is still... TO BE CONTINUED.

  • EP 51: THE MORNING AFTER THE LOCKDOWN BEFORE
    Aug 8 2026
The vaguely chronological recap of our careers enters 2021, and that strange finding-your-feet period after furloughs and social distancing.

With no Sunak schemes to support us, it was back to working for a living (not that we actually stopped) for both of us, which was a mixture of lockdown-induced creator-owned projects and new stuff, of the live-action TV department, (TRANSFORMERS) computer games. and comic nature. Plus a few strange ones that fall into none of those categories.

  • EP50: LAST STAND OF THE FECKERS
    Jul 25 2026
We're 50! Another millstone... sorry, milestone is reached, with two top-notch TRANSFORMERS guests to boot. And they said it wouldn't last.

We're joined by writer extraordinaire James Roberts (More Than Meets The Eye, Lost Light) and writer/artist Nick Roche (Last Stand of the Wreckers, More Than Meets The Eye), who take us back to their childhood (in TRANSFORMERS terms anyway), their experiences of TF fandom, and their pro starters for ten. Me, James and Andrew squeeze a few words in here and there, while the rest is Nick Roche.

  • EP49: INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH
    Jul 11 2026
Our reboot of Wildfur's The Engine: Industrial Strength is back on the table, and we show our hands (a bit) with some teaser chat about the project.

Wildman and Furman - back together! (Were we ever apart?) Our co-created motion comic is getting a fresh coat of paint this year, reimagined somewhat and re-delivered - via Kickstarter - to you, our wonderful audience. We chat about that, our appearance at the upcoming 10th anniversary TFNation, and our bumper-sized, guest-laden 50th RIGR. Can you handle all this in one podcast?
