STAR WARS SUMMER continues as Ryan and David are blasting off into the darker, colder, moodier chapter of the galaxy far, far away “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back)” (1980)

This episode has everything: Leia serving “if looks could kill” energy, Han being charming and infuriating at the exact same time, C-3PO getting taken apart like a action figure, R2-D2 screaming through every crisis, and Luke learns that if a ghost tells you to go to a swamp planet while you’re freezing to death, you just go!

STAR WARS SUMMER continues as Ryan and David finally arrive at the one that started it all, “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” (1977)

This week, the Radical Ones are treated to a very special message from Academy Award winner Roger Christian! Roger won an Oscar for set decoration on George Lucas’s Star Wars: A New Hope, helping create the unforgettable lived-in look of a galaxy far, far away. He later continued his collaboration with Lucas on Return of the Jedi and was hand-picked by George Lucas to direct second unit on Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Roger is best known for winning an Academy Award for set decoration on the original Star Wars and an Oscar nomination for Alien. He created the first lightsaber prop, directed cult short Black Angel and features like The Sender and Nostradamus.

Ryan and David dive into the movie that changed pop culture forever, from Luke whining about power converters, Han Solo’s questionable “charming criminal” energy, Obi-Wan disappearing into a pile of laundry as Vader dramatically stamps on his empty cloak to make sure he’s really gone...all while Vader breaths like he just walked up three flights of stairs in full leather.

STAR WARS SUMMER continues as Ryan and David head into one of the most beloved entries of the Disney era, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" (2016)!

This week, the Radical Ones are also treated to a special message from legendary visual effects supervisor Hal Hickel! A longtime member of Industrial Light & Magic, Hal is known for his incredible work on the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Rogue One, The Mandalorian, and countless other projects that helped bring a galaxy far, far away to life.
