Spooktober is coming to a close, but we're going out with missing persons mysteries, Bigfoot sightings, and the possibility that something strange might be lurking a little closer to home than we'd like.

We kick things off with a follow-up to last week's listener submissions, including the truth behind the story that had us convinced we were dealing with a real-life paranormal mystery. Turns out, sometimes the scariest thing of all is getting pranked by your friends. Then we dive into the disappearance of Aaron Hedges, an experienced outdoorsman who vanished during an elk hunting trip in Montana's Crazy Mountains in 2014. His remains were eventually found miles from his boots, and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance leave some unsettling questions. We look at how his case connects to the broader world of Missing 411, including strange disappearances, difficult searches, sudden weather changes, and people found in places that don't seem to make sense.

And because we can't finish Spooktober without talking about Bigfoot, we look at a reported cluster of sightings in Ohio in 2026, along with some possible Bigfoot encounters much closer to home. Patrick may or may not be preparing to investigate with night-vision goggles. We're not saying it's a good idea, but we're definitely saying it'll make a good story.

Are these mysteries explainable? Is there something out there we haven't figured out? Or are we just two guys who enjoy a good rabbit hole? Either way, it's been a great Spooktober.

It’s time for Spooktober pt. 3, and this time, the stories come from real people who’ve experienced things they still can’t explain.

We are back with another round of creepy listener submissions, featuring a haunted movie theater, reports of giants, mysterious big cats, shadowy figures, and an unsettling (yet eerily familiar) story about a city terrorized by an unknown entity.

Some of these stories sound like something straight out of a movie. Others are the kind of encounters that make you wonder what you’d do if it happened to you.

As always, we’re sharing the stories, asking questions, and trying to make sense of the strange stuff people claim to have experienced. Are these encounters explainable, or is there more going on than we understand? You can decide for yourself.

Have you ever seen something you couldn't explain? Heard something you still can't account for? Had an experience that sounds too strange to be true? We want to hear about it! Send your stories to The Good Dumb Fun Show, and you might hear them featured in a future episode.

Get comfortable, turn down the lights (or maybe leave them on), and join us for another round of real-life spooky stories.

Welcome back to Spooktober! In Part 2 of the second annual GDF Spooktober Spooktacular, we head into the Appalachian woods to talk about the legends, strange encounters, and things that make you reconsider going for a nice, peaceful hike.

We’re talking the mysterious Brown Mountain Lights, Appalachian haints and bottle trees, the terrifying legend of Aunt Kate, the Not Deer, mimics, and the stories of people hearing their own names called from the woods. Why do so many people report strange experiences that sound eerily similar?

Along the way, we explore how Native American traditions and Appalachian folklore overlap and try to figure out what might be behind it all. Is there a reasonable explanation for these encounters, or are some things better left alone?

One important lesson from this episode: If you hear your name in the woods, no you didn’t. And if you get a bad feeling? Get to steppin’!

Have you ever experienced something you couldn’t explain? Send us your story! You can request to remain anonymous. Got a favorite Appalachian legend or spooky story you want us to cover? We want to hear it.

Subscribe for more comedy, conversations, college football, weird rabbit holes, and whatever else Josh and Patrick get themselves into.
