184: Your Mind vs. Your Intuition
    29 Jul 2019
“What you are doing as you do this work is you're bringing online an aspect of you that has been in atrophy.” - Guy & Ilan Ferdman(click to tweet)  Our minds are all about patterns. We are naturally wired to respond to anything and everything we encounter with the survival instinct that will keep us safe. On the contrary, our intuition has a mind of its own. Intuition is that wild idea you have that seems risky and nonsensical. Intuition is that fun adventure that popped up that seems ridiculous and even dangerous to try. Intuition is that voice that many of us are taught to basically silence, but it has so much to tell us if we listen. That’s why on today’s episode of Personal Development Without The Fluff, we are discussing the challenges, the importance, and the characteristics of a journey towards understanding and listening to your intuition more frequently. It’s an invaluable skill that we’ve constantly been indirectly taught to ignore by society. Tune in to this conversation to learn about possible challenges you’ll face as well as tools to help you further fine-tune your ear for your inner-intuition’s voice. “Just because we can’t verify something today scientifically, doesn’t mean it’s outside of the realm of reality.” - Guy & Ilan Ferdman(click to tweet) The Cliff Notes:Personal development and intuition work is largely about reawakening your child-like inner-self.Listening to your intuition will seem like it doesn't make any sense to your logical brain at first. When things don't go right, it's often when we aren't operating from a relaxed state. Most beautiful things in life happen “over the edge.”The mind’s job is to keep you alive so it will naturally go against your risky intuition.Growth is rarely comfortable. When we're dealing with difficulty and discomfort, the mind is often the one producing that.“The irony is that when you actually quiet yourself down is when the world gets loudest for you.” - Guy & Ilan Ferdman(click to tweet) Learn more about your ad choices. 183: Give Your Skin The Food It Deserves with Trina Felber
    22 Jul 2019
“What I learned is that if you feed your largest organ food, it heals.” - Trina Felber(click to tweet)  Do you love your skin? Do you take care of it? Most of us are probably pretty comfortable with saying they take decent care of their skin. The problem is that we are sold mainstream products that aren’t actually that healthy for our skin and riddled with dangerous ingredients. So even if we have a good regimen, it can be even better! That’s why on today’s episode of Personal Development Without The Fluff, we are joined by Trina Felber, the founder and Creator of Primal Life Organics. She’s a dental health and natural skincare expert, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and a mother of three.  Tune in to this conversation to learn about Trina’s company Primal Life Organics to learn about treating your skin with the food it needs. You can learn more about Trina and her company here: https://www.primallifeorganics.com/“Everything comes down to cellular activity.” - Trina Felber(click to tweet) The Cliff Notes:You may think you are stuck in your career, but look at it as a stepping stone.Commercial skincare products are harsh on your cells. When water evaporates from your skin it also dries out the natural oils your skin needs.Skincare and hygiene projects should improve the health of your body, not just make it appear healthier.Brushing your teeth with mineral based products such as Trina’s product “Dirty Mouth Tooth Powder” rather than fluoride helps your teeth revitalize.Dehydrated skin will expedite the wrinkling process.Think “skin-food” instead of “skincare.”“When I create products, I look at what I want the product to do in terms of healing the body.” - Trina Felber(click to tweet) Learn more about your ad choices. 182: Losing The Facade With Kristina Mänd Lakhiani
    15 Jul 2019
“I understood that what I am inside is not what I showed to the world… because that’s the weird thing about delusion. You do not know that aren’t seeing the right picture.” - Kristina Mänd-Lakhiani(click to tweet)  Have you ever felt like you’re constantly chasing something more? You checked off your boxes, you’ve crossed off your list and you’ve reached your financial goals. Yet, for some reason you still feel a void. What is that about? It’s normal for us to put our self-worth and value in milestones and tangible accomplishments. It’s what the world tells us to do. But once we reach those goals and still feel unfulfilled, why doesn’t the world tell us what to do then? Suddenly we don’t know what to do. Yet, the people around us think we’ve got it all figured out. Surely something is wrong with us...Right?Well, believe it or not, life is about more than success stories. Therefore, maybe there’s some inner work for each of us to do. That’s why on today’s episode of Personal Development Without The Fluff, we are joined by Life Philosopher and Co-Founder of Mindvalley, Kristina Mänd Lakhiani to discuss authenticity and the way it affects us and others around us.Tune in to this conversation to learn what we might encounter in life as we begin stripping away layers of our facades and coming to know our true selves. You can learn more about Kristina in the links below.Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kristinamand Instagram: @kristinamand  Website: www.kristinamand.com“I was just trying to understand who I am. And when I did, the beautiful facade of my life completely crumbled and fell into pieces.” - Kristina Mänd-Lakhiani(click to tweet) The Cliff Notes:Even people who have “made it” can be teachable. Many incredibly “successful” people tend to be driven by a feeling of “not enough-ness.”Achieving careers or wealth are only bandaids to the real personal development that gets to be done.Looking at only your faults that need to be fixed is an unhealthy habit.Masks are appropriate and necessary sometimes. The problem comes when we start to rely on them. Sometimes we have to admit hard things to ourselves that might go against society’s tradition. It’s inevitable that being your authentic self might hurt people you love.  “There will be the moment when you’ll have to communicate, to the world and to the people you love the most, something which might hurt them. And you will still have to be true to that.” - Kristina Mänd-Lakhiani(click to tweet) Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
