June Motokawa gave the eulogy at Patsy Mink's funeral.  June is president of the Hawaii Education Association and a past president of the Hawaii State Teachers Association. Patsy Mink's mission in life was to improve education opportunities for all children.   

Native Hawaiian Herb Lee was Patsy Mink's Chief of Staff when she served on the Honolulu City Council from 1982-1986.

Lorna's parents were friends of Patsy Takemoto Mink. Her father Toshi Takahara and Patsy Takemoto were classmates at the University of Hawaii. Her mother volunteered on all of Paty's campaigns. 

John Bickel  played an important role in getting Patsy Mink elected and returned to Congress in 1990.  John has been a high school history teacher for 33 years.

Claire Shimabukuro's mother Kikue, was the campaign office manager for Patsy Mink's early elections.
