  • Memorial Day Honored Part 2
    May 20 2026
Memorial Day got its start at various towns and cities across the USA. Focusing on the respect and dignity shown to our fallen servicemen in the American Civil War. Originally labeled 'Decoration Day' - becasue graves were decorated with remembrances - it was later renamed 'Memorial Day' and given the distinction of timely honoring men and women who died in service to our country. May 30 was chosen as the day because no battles were fought on that day during the Civil War, later it was included in the "Monday Holiday Bill" and changed to the last Monday in May as the day to honor our fallen heros.

    May 13 2026
One of the 26 Highwaymen artists, Al Black was the infamous "Salesman." When he took over sales the paintings never got a chance to dry - they were sold so fast. As Ralph says, "Al could sell an overcoat to a mosquito in July." In the latter '90s,serving time in Florida prisons, Al Black painted murals on concrete walls. The other prisioners fiercely guarded his artwork. Al Black passed away May 12, 2025.
