About this listen

Please note: contains strong language, depictions of violence and references to suicide. Listener discretion is advised.

Sir Michael Caine knows a thing or two about gangs: whether that’s joining one as a kid, or playing gangsters in movies for over 50 years. Organised crime has captivated pop culture for decades, from the Krays to the Mafia.

Now Caine delves into the real stories behind the gangs we think we know so well, revealing the hidden realities behind the myths. And he throughout the series he asks: can a gang ever truly be ‘successful’?

Michael Caine was superb at narrating this podcast. The content was interesting and as a cockney from Bethnal Green I can vouch for the authenticity of the segment related to London gangs.
Thought provoking and a really good listen!

and its history, present & future. Read in Michael Caine's awesome voice (+ cast) Still need a reason to nit ban drugs? it lures criminals, like Gotti etc.

It's as awesome as you'd imagine Michael Cane narrating gang stories would be. Anyone who finds the music to somehow be overpowering the speech may genuinely need a hearing check because even without headphones the two levels are almost comically different, it's fine

Michael Cane is a national treasure

Interesting podcast. The stories were good but I was expecting something more newer than the wild west for example.
