What if true joy isn't found in elevating ourselves, but in lowering ourselves to lift others up?

This week we explore Philippians 2:1-11, where Paul reveals the radical humility of Christ. Jesus didn't cling to His divine glory—He emptied Himself, took on the form of a slave, and humbled Himself to death on a cross. Why? To save everyone, not just the privileged or powerful, but all people.

The world tells us to climb the ladder, seek status, and protect our image. But biblical humility turns everything upside down. It's choosing to serve others, not for applause or recognition, but because that's where we find Christ.

Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus. When we imitate His humility, we discover a joy the world cannot offer.

This episode begins a new series on Philippians called “Joy That Gives Thanks,” and I’d love for you to be part of it. We’re starting in Philippians 1:18–26, looking at how Paul could write with such deep joy and gratitude while sitting in a Roman prison, facing possible execution. Together we’ll explore how to refocus our perspective, adjust our priorities, and press on in faith so that, like Paul, we can discover a joy that remains steady in every circumstance—big or small.

Who are you when nobody is looking? We spend our lives trying to figure out who we really are, often defining ourselves by what we do—our jobs, achievements, or roles. But what happens when those things change or fade away?

In this episode we’ll conclude our “Emotionally Healthy Faith” series with a message titled, “Who Am I Really?” We’re going to look at the baptism of Jesus in Matthew 3 and ask some honest questions about identity: Why do we so quickly define ourselves by what we do, what we own, or how others see us? And what does it mean that before Jesus had done any public ministry, the Father spoke over Him, “This is my Son, the beloved; with whom I am well pleased”? I believe God wants to speak that same truth into our lives-our deepest identity.

We’ll explore how our relationship with God can become the solid foundation for our identity in a world that is constantly trying to name us and claim us.
