Like Mother is a mother-daughter comedy that explores two generations of women who are a lot alike, but who are desperate to believe otherwise. This semi-autobiographical, 10-episode Audible Original follows 30-year-old Allison (Alison Stevenson) who is forced to move home after losing her job. Now that she’s back in Davis, and living with her mother Sarah (Susie Essman), the two must confront their combative relationship head-on and figure out how to live under the same roof.

Written through each character’s alternating perspective, this scripted audio series gives us an intimate look at the complicated relationship between a mother and her daughter - from one night stands in your mom’s house, to fat-shaming, to whether knocking on wood actually wards off evil, Like Mother gives us a front row seat to a raw and realistic portrayal of millennial relationships, and asks us to question, not only our own relationships, but ultimately ourselves.

initialli i was like..why am i spending my time listening to mother and daughter fighting all the time? but then i started appreciating the story, and the meaningful lessons behind it. loved it.

I really enjoyed the story and it did hit home on mother daughter relationships. The only issue I had was how Alison disrespect God in earlier on in the story. I understand that she was trying to get a point across, but this could be done in a less disrespectful way.
