On July 8, 2014, a 28-year-old German tourist named Lars Mittank suddenly ran out of an airport in Varna, Bulgaria, leaving his belongings behind. He was never confirmed to have been seen again.

What began as a summer vacation with friends had taken a strange turn following an altercation that left Lars with an injured ear. After staying behind in Bulgaria, he began making concerning phone calls to his mother, claiming that people were following him.

Then came the airport disappearance.

In this episode of Her Strange Hour, Ivy Monroe explores the timeline of Lars Mittank's disappearance, the surveillance footage, the medical questions surrounding his behavior, the investigations, reported sightings, and developments through 2026.

Was Lars running from a real threat, experiencing a medical crisis, or facing something investigators have yet to uncover?

More than twelve years later, his family is still searching for answers.

Five friends went to a basketball game in Chico, California, on February 24, 1978. None of them came home.

Days later, their car was found abandoned on a snowy mountain road, far from their intended route.

Months passed before searchers discovered four of the men dead. The fifth, Gary Mathias, was never found.

But the discoveries only raised more questions.

Why had the men driven into the mountains? Why did they leave a car that still worked? And how did one of them survive for weeks inside a remote trailer where food and heating supplies were available?

In this episode of Her Strange Hour, Ivy Monroe explores the baffling disappearance of the Yuba County Five, the evidence investigators uncovered, and the questions their families have lived with for nearly fifty years.

For nearly seven years, Canadian nurse Cindy James reported receiving threatening phone calls, disturbing notes, and being physically attacked by someone she couldn't identify.

She moved, changed her name, installed security equipment, and even hired a private investigator. But the incidents she reported continued.

Then, in May 1989, Cindy vanished.

Two weeks later, her body was discovered behind an abandoned house with her hands and feet bound behind her back.

What followed was a complicated investigation that divided police and Cindy's family. Investigators suspected some of the incidents may have been staged, while her loved ones believed someone had been terrorizing her for years.

Even after a lengthy coroner's inquest, Cindy's death remained officially undetermined.

In this episode of Her Strange Hour, we're looking at the evidence, the conflicting accounts, and the questions that remain about what happened to Cindy James.
