Mr. and Mrs. Christmas (Hallmark Channel 2026)
    22 Oct 2026
Mr. Fix It spent the entire movie being Mr. Mess It Up. We review Mr. & Mrs. Christmas: why Sophie is the best character of opening weekend, why a Christmas movie about a budget is a choice, and why Megan is thrilled about the mistletoe. Ratings: 2.75 and 3.5.

  • Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story (Hallmark Channel 2026)

Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story (Hallmark Channel 2026)
    21 Oct 2026
Marsha Mason, Malört shots, and the best hair we’ve ever seen in a Hallmark movie. We review Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story and land in different places on whether the story underneath holds up.

Hallmark’s third NFL Christmas movie came out swinging on opening weekend, and we have a lot to say about it. Lyndsy Fonseca and Robert Buckley are a terrific pairing with comedy built in rather than bolted on. Marsha Mason is the heart of the whole thing. And Megan would like someone to tell her where to buy those green glasses.

But we both wanted more comedy than this script was willing to give Robert Buckley, and Wendy makes the case that if you strip away the Bears, the Chicago of it all and the football traditions, what’s left is a very familiar Hallmark shape. Megan doesn’t mind the formula when the extra layers earn their keep. We do not resolve this.

Plus: an Italian beef that was far too dry, a thermostat reading 75 degrees in a Chicago winter, the Always product placement that refused to be discreet, and the movie marquee Easter egg that Mackie has now caught twice in three films.

We also hear from Tamera Mowry-Housley about how her cameo happened, from Shannon in Australia about the jumbotron tribute, and from Kea, a Chicagoan who settles the Malört question, confirms cornhole is real, and has strong feelings about a boat tour on a frozen river.

Ratings, the franchise scoreboard, and which NFL team we want next.

  • 'Tis the Season for Setups

    'Tis the Season for Setups
    20 Oct 2026
Listen to our review. We kick off Countdown to Christmas 2026 with ’Tis the Season for Setups and end up talking about parenting regrets, the forehead kiss that almost happened, and the most pointless secret relationship of the season. Plus, one of us wants a “Queen of No Fun” t-shirt, and we argue about whether a Christmas escape room even counts.

  • Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story (Encore)

Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story (Encore)
    16 Oct 2026
Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story brought Hallmark Channel and the NFL back together for a second football-themed Christmas romance in 2025. Following the success of 2024’s Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, the second movie in the Hallmark and NFL partnership headed to Buffalo Bills country, starring Holland Roden and Matthew Daddario as longtime neighbors Morgan and Gabe. Set against the traditions and passionate fandom of Bills Mafia, the story follows the pair as they search for the mysterious Christmas benefactor who once helped Morgan’s family - and discover that their own relationship may be turning into something more.

  • Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story (Encore)

Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story (Encore)
    15 Oct 2026
Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story kicked off a new era of football-themed Christmas movies for Hallmark Channel when it premiered in 2024. Starring Hunter King and Tyler Hynes, the movie was the first collaboration between Hallmark and the NFL and brought together holiday romance, Kansas City Chiefs fandom, and plenty of familiar faces from Chiefs Kingdom. Set in Kansas City and centered around one family’s bid to become the team’s “Fan of the Year,” Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story launched what has since become an annual Hallmark football tradition, with the Buffalo Bills getting their turn in 2025 and the Chicago Bears joining the lineup in 2026.

  • Our Top Five Movies of the Year

Our Top Five Movies of the Year
    14 Oct 2026
We have never done this episode before, which is a little hard to believe after all these years. So here it is: our five favorite Hallmark movies of 2026, picked separately, compared on the podcast, and argued about a bit. Every Hallmark movie that aired in 2026 was eligible except the Countdown to Christmas lineup, which has its own conversation coming in January. There's overlap on our lists, there's one shared honorable mention, and at the bottom there's a surprise about which episode you all actually listened to most this year.

  • The Spirit of Halloween

    The Spirit of Halloween
    13 Oct 2026
The Spirit of Halloween closes out Fall into Love and we both gave it 4.75 stars, which almost never happens. Megan hates costumes and loved it anyway. Wendy's fall fatigue is cured. Everly Stone gets three ghosts; we get a real Halloween movie.

We talk Jeff Beesley's gift for ensembles, Nicole Baxter's writing, and Lachlan Quormby stealing the whole movie as a six-foot-four Ghost of Halloween Future. Plus: visible cold breath in a Halloween movie, empty prop coffee cups, the third sexy measuring scene of the year, and whether Everly is actually a Scrooge at all.

  • Fall Favorite: Haul out the Halloween

Fall Favorite: Haul out the Halloween
    9 Oct 2026
    Haul Out the Halloween (Encore)

Five stars. No notes. Not a single wish between us, which almost never happens around here.

Halloween-obsessed new neighbors move onto Evergreen Lane and inspire the whole street to become EverSCREAM Lane. Lacey Chabert and Wes Brown are back as Emily and Jared, Maclain Nelson writes and directs again, and Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz turn up as the new arrivals.

This is our final fall favorite encore as we head into the last weekend of Fall Into Love on Hallmark Channel. The review was originally published in October 2025. We get into the five-minute wedding that opens the movie and the one throwaway line in it that wrecked us, why Melissa Peterman and Stephen Tobolowsky together are comedy gold, the Nickelback runner, and the pop culture references that are going to land for a very specific audience. Wendy also spotted a Howard Stern Show alum in the cast, which took some explaining.
