What if the most intimate place you ever met God wasn't a church, a conference, or a mountaintop — but a decommissioned limestone bridge in the middle of a Kansas field that leads absolutely nowhere?

It was on that bridge that God gave him three words that cracked him open: Clarity is fuel. And the definition of what was draining him — a season of contradiction, when the prophetic and the pathetic in you are at equal arc — is something every honest believer will recognize in themselves.

But the miracle story will stop you cold.

In 2004, Tim's wife Connie was diagnosed with stage four invasive cancer in her lymph nodes. The top teaching oncologist in Wichita gave them less than 24 hours to return for emergency biopsy surgery. That evening, Connie's whispered prayer was barely audible: "Lord, these five kids we adopted have already lost one mother. Please don't let them lose another."

Then a four-year-old girl — adopted just one year earlier — came running in from outside, looked at her mother's face, placed her tiny hand on Connie's chest, and said: "Dear God, heal my mama's blood." Then pulled her hand back, confused, and apologized — she didn't know why she'd said blood.

The next morning, every blood test came back negative. The MRI showed nothing. The doctor who had planned to use Connie's scans in medical lectures for the rest of her career sat down, took Connie's hand, looked her in the eye, and said: "I do not know what has happened. There is no cancer."

What if you found a notebook you hadn't opened in 25 years — and every single miracle you had desperately prayed for had been answered?

Story One — Getting Off the Fence Nearly 50 years ago, Todd was standing on a lawn at a graduation ceremony in Southern California — surrounded by pageantry, music, and crowds — when the whole world faded away. In that strange isolation, he sensed God asking him one direct question: "When are you going to get off the fence?" No thunder. No tears. Just a quiet, unmistakable moment of reckoning. Todd's answer — a simple, determined "Here I am, God. I'm all in" — redirected everything. His career plans, his calling, his entire life trajectory shifted from that single afternoon. What he thought would be a business career became 25 years in pastoral ministry, then 25 years in Christian higher education, and counting.

Story Two — The Notebook Three months before this interview, Todd was packing up his home during a move and came across an old notebook. Inside was a page with two columns: Miracles Needed and Miracles Received. About 15 items — written during one of the most precarious seasons of his life, when he and his wife stepped away from pastoral ministry, moved to the American Midwest to be near family, built a successful finance career, and then felt God's unmistakable tug back to Canada to replant a church with no guaranteed income and no safety net. The "Miracles Received" column was filled in with different colored pens — written at different times, as each answer came. Church facility: yes. Church growth: yes, doubled in year one. Every single one checked off.
