  • Why Won't Sincerity Save You?
    Nov 2 2026

Romans 10:3 doesn’t let anyone hide behind sincerity. We can have real religious zeal, real effort, and a real desire to be “a good person” and still miss the one thing we actually need: the righteousness of God. Dr. Timothy Mann slows the pace to examine a single verse and shows why precise definitions are not academic trivia. When we get righteousness wrong, we get salvation wrong.

We walk through Paul’s burden for Israel and the shocking diagnosis: people try to establish their own righteousness instead of submitting to God’s. Along the way, we clarify a crucial Bible truth often lost in modern talk about faith and morality: righteousness is not just an ethical vibe, it is a legal standing before a holy God. That raises the unavoidable question: who can stand in God’s court and be acquitted? Romans answers with hope and humility, pointing us to God’s gift rather than our résumé.

Then the contrast gets painfully practical. Human righteousness can look like avoiding the worst sins, piling up good deeds, leaning on baptism or communion, or trusting charity and volunteering as proof we must be fine. Dr. Mann uses vivid illustrations, from Monopoly money to Paul’s conversion, to show why our “currency” cannot buy what only Christ can provide. The warning is serious, because the first consequence of this confusion is simple: we become satisfied with ourselves while we are still spiritually dying.

Listen through, share it with someone who needs clarity about salvation, and then subscribe, leave a review, and pass the episode along to a friend who’s tempted to trust “good enough” instead of Jesus.

  • How Can Zealous People Be Lost?
    Oct 30 2026

Someone you love can be deeply spiritual, intensely sincere, and still be completely unprepared to meet God. That’s not a popular thing to say, but Romans 10 says it plainly: “They have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.” We lean into that hard truth and let it reshape how we pray for our friends, parents, children, coworkers, and neighbors who don’t know Christ.

We talk through why zeal is never a substitute for genuine biblical conversion, and why the modern idea that “all roads lead to God” collapses under the weight of the gospel. Paul’s burden for his people shows us what healthy Christianity looks like: compassion that refuses to settle for vague spirituality, and prayer that asks God to save real people with real names. We also dig into the deeper issue behind so much confusion today: ignorance of the righteousness of God, and the deadly impulse to build our own righteousness through good works or personal effort.

From there, we zoom out to the method God uses to bring salvation: clear teaching and preaching of God’s Word. We walk through Mark’s Gospel to see Jesus prioritize proclaiming the kingdom over chasing crowds, and we connect that to the church’s calling today. Finally, we explore the difference between knowing facts and truly understanding the gospel, then bring it home with a searching question: whose salvation are you praying for right now? Subscribe, share this with a friend you’re praying for, and leave a review so more people can find solid Bible teaching.

  • What Prayer Do Your Loved Ones Need Most?
    Oct 29 2026

You can know the right theology and still lose your heart for people, but Paul refuses to let that happen. We open Romans 10:1–2 and sit with a simple sentence that carries enormous weight: Paul’s heart’s desire and prayer to God is that Israel may be saved. That single line confronts the moment many of us face with a spouse, child, parent, coworker, or friend, when we feel ignored, disappointed, or ready to write them off.

We talk through why Romans 10 belongs with Romans 9–11 and why Paul can hold two truths at the same time: God is sovereign in salvation, and people are responsible when they reject Christ. Far from making prayer pointless, God’s sovereignty makes prayer hopeful, because God truly works in the lives of those we’re praying for. You’ll also hear a memorable story from George Müller that challenges the way we measure “results” and calls us back to patient, persistent intercessory prayer.

Then we get practical about priorities. Scripture invites us to pray for many needs, but nothing outweighs the eternal value of a soul. We also face the sobering warning of Romans 10:2, that zeal for God is not the same as saving faith. If you want to pray biblically, share the gospel more clearly, and keep loving people who seem far from Christ, this message will steady you.
