Crippling Cities explores the intersection of accessibility, urbanism and design from the perspective of people with lived experience of disability. We want to understand the full process of designing for, living in, and coping with experiencing the built environment without the privilege of an able body or mind.

This podcast is recorded on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, sovereignty was never ceded.

  • Mobility with Peter Malley, Director: Transport at Ratio Consultants
    10 Sep 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

In this episode we take a focus on mobility and access in the City with special guest Peter Malley, Director: Transport at Ratio Consultants. Peter says, "I like doing these things, to give my perspective, and make people think a little bit more..." and we agree! It's time for us to think a little harder about mobility in our cities, and about the circumstances that might bring someone to that experience.

  • Introductions
    13 Aug 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

This episode is a little different to our usual plan but will be setting up the most important aspect of any podcast, our credibility.

We started this podcast after a series of somewhat productive working groups for the Disabled And Neuro Diverse Urbanists’ Network (DANUN for short), where we found that there was quite a demand for information about planning for disability.

We needed a space to consolidate and communicate our ideas in a way that was collaborative and constructive. As we progress through this series we will be introducing guest professionals from the built environment who either have experience working or living in the city as or for Disabled people.
