COLD is a narrative podcast series focused on missing persons cases. Investigative journalist and host Dave Cawley takes on a single story with each season.

Season 1: Susan Powell Case Files, the Cold journey begins with Dave’s investigation into the unsolved disappearance of Susan Powell… and the man with the most to gain from her death.

Season 2: Justice for Joyce Yost delves into the details of a murder-for-hire plot and attempts to find justice for Joyce – a woman who bravely reported her kidnapping and rape only to vanish without a trace.

Season 3: The Search for Sheree follows two suspects in the 1985 disappearance of Sheree Warren while examining the dangerous escalation of domestic abuse and sexual violence. The Cold team seeks to answer the question: what really happened to Sheree Warren?

Season 4: Blamed on Bundy - The Disappearance of Nancy Baird
Brant Baird can barely remember his mom, Nancy Perry Baird. She vanished in 1975, when Brant was just 4. For nearly 50 years, Brant lived under the belief serial killer Ted Bundy abducted and murdered Nancy. That changed when COLD picked up Nancy’s case. Now, the daughters of a former cop are confronting a dark shadow from their past. And Brant is left to ask, “if Ted Bundy didn’t kill Nancy Baird, then who?”

The Susan Powell Case Files | Prelude
    8 Nov 2018

Susan Powell vanished from her home in West Valley City, Utah on a cold December day in 2009. Her husband, Josh Powell had taken the couple's two sons out camping in a blizzard. He claimed to have no idea where his wife had gone. Susan has never been found. Josh was never arrested or charged with a crime, though police suspected he murdered Susan in cold blood. Reporter Dave Cawley has spent years pouring over this cold case mystery. In Prelude, he sets the stage for an unbelievable true story.

The Susan Powell Case Files | To All the Girls I've Loved Before | 1
    14 Nov 2018

Josh Powell believed in his own greatness from at least age 5. So why wouldn't any girls date him? Why did his only other serious girlfriend before Susan Cox run away in fear? Perhaps because he inherited some of his father Steven Powell's bizarre beliefs about relationships and marriage. This episode tells the story of the one who got away from Josh Powell, a full decade before the disappearance of Susan Powell made him the focus of a multi-state murder investigation.

For the past three years, investigative reporter Dave Cawley has been studying thousands of police documents, journals, videos, and diary entries. He has tracked down new sources, followed new leads, and traced Josh Powell's trail from West Valley City, Utah, through Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, and on to Washington State, where he killed himself and his two sons. Cold is the most complete retelling of the Susan Powell story ever. Join Dave Cawley in his search for truth.

The Susan Powell Case Files | Wake Up, Little Susie | 2
    21 Nov 2018

Susan Cox married Josh Powell after only 6 months of courtship. She immediately found herself under the lens of her father-in-law Steven Powell's video camera. The camcorder even captured Steve's confession of love for his daughter-in-law Susan Powell in July of 2013. She rejected him, not realizing he had stalked her and stolen her journals, underwear and hygiene products.
