I was at the top of my game. Double board-certified orthopedic surgeon. Faculty at one of the country's top orthopaedic departments. Head team physician for a Division I football team. Training for triathlons. Running 7:44 miles. Living the life I'd built.

Then, at 47, everything changed.

My body hurt everywhere. Brain fog that made my steel-trap mind feel foggy. Fifteen percent body fat that appeared seemingly overnight, especially around my middle. Weakness I'd never experienced. The day I couldn't move a patient on the operating table — something I'd done alone a thousand times — I knew I needed answers.

I was in perimenopause. And medicine had almost nothing to offer me.

The research wasn't there. The protocols weren't there. The doctor conversations weren't there.

So I went deep into the research myself, rebuilt every protocol from the ground up, and lived it myself.

What I discovered changed my life. The timebombs of aging — bone loss, muscle loss, metabolic shift — are real. But they are modifiable. They are preventable. They can be reversed.

That discovery led to the book that became a New York Times bestseller. And now I'm dedicating the second half of my career to making sure every woman has the roadmap I had to build.
