🤍 🤍 🤍 Beez in the Trap—Were Macey and Abbi. We've worked together for years, but if we're being honest, we never really knew each other until this podcast.

What started as an idea quickly became something bigger-- a reason to slow down, ask better questions, and have the kinds of conversations that are easy to miss in everyday life.

Join us each week as we dive into the stories, laughs, random rabbit holes, and honest moments that make life interesting. From childhood memories and personal growth to funny hot takes and the questions everyone thinks about but rarely asks out loud, every episode is a chance to slow down and have a real conversation.

No scripts. No perfect answers. We're figuring each other out one conversation at a time and we'd love for you to pull up a chair while we do. So grab a coffee, join the hive, and see where the conversation leads.🐝 🐝🐝

“Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble.”
    — William Shakespeare, Macbeth

It's episode 20, witches! And this week we're stirring up a little bit of everything in the Beez in the Trap cauldron!

We kick things off with the movie Death Becomes Her and society's never-ending obsession with staying young. Is growing old a blessing or a curse? And when did we decide that looking our age was something to be afraid of?

Macey gets a little deeper as she talks about establishing healthy boundaries with family and why communication, accountability, and uncomfortable conversations might just be the magic ingredients to healing. Especially when it comes to the wounds we carry from our mothers. Because maybe healing those parts of ourselves doesn't just change our relationships with our parents, but creates more room for healthier, more meaningful relationships with our own children. Breaking generational cycles, one conversation at a time!

Macey also shares her recent appointment with medium Paula and some enlightening words of wisdom that left her with plenty to think about.

With Halloween upon us, we wander into the history and meaning behind Halloween, All Saints' Day, and Día de los Muertos. From spooky traditions to honoring those who came before us, there's a little more to these holidays than costumes and candy!

Meanwhile, Abbi's love for Broadway is alive and well! She dreams of seeing a show in New York City someday, but until then, our little hometown theater productions will have to do. She's also planning a family trip to Wisconsin, and let's just say her daughter is NOT losing any sleep over the homework she'll be missing.

And finally, we find ourselves wondering why some parents seem to be raising the very inconsiderate humans we spend so much time talking about. Could it be that little eyes are watching and learning from the very people setting the example? Imagine that!

Youth, death, healing, motherhood, Broadway dreams, and a little Halloween magic. Just another week of stirring the pot with Macey and Abbi.

Shine bright and bee kind 🐝🖤

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”
    — Helen Keller

And what an adventure life continues to be! 🐝

This week on Beez in the Trap, we're getting into the Halloween spirit! Macey and Jason are going as the Lil's — Lil Wayne and Lil Jon, that is! YEAHHHH! 🎃

Macey and Abbi reflect on how life has been treating them since May, and while we're both feeling pretty damn good these days, let's just say the universe has handed out a few lessons along the way. We've been humbled, we've been schooled, but hey, we're here, and that's something worth celebrating!

Abbi takes us somewhere over the rainbow as she shares her experience attending The Wizard of Oz play with a friend. Abbi had the BEST time! Her friend, however, left with a completely different experience. What should have been a magical family night turned into a reminder of how heartbreaking it can be to watch someone who just wants to enjoy time with their family have a partner who would rather be anywhere else.

Meanwhile, Macey's golf tournament was a hole-in-one kind of experience! New friends, good company, and another reminder that sometimes the best adventures happen when you put yourself out there.

Then things get a little more personal when Macey's fourth grader decides it's time for a bra. Which is quite the conversation considering Macey herself hasn't owned one since 2018! 😂 This opens the door to a bigger discussion about our bodies, anatomy, and why society has made so many perfectly natural things feel embarrassing or inappropriate to talk about.

And speaking of uncomfortable conversations, we get into a political campaign commercial from Idaho's current governor about keeping transgender athletes out of girls' sports. There are a whole lot of layers to this conversation, and we share some of our thoughts, questions, and perspectives. One thing we want to make clear: We love people. All people. Our intention is never to make anyone feel ashamed of who they are. We believe conversations can be had with curiosity, compassion, and respect, even when the subject is complicated.

And just when Macey thinks she's done being schooled, her own daughter steps in as the teacher! Watching her fourth grader navigate emotional conversations with a level of understanding and maturity that Macey herself is still learning is a pretty beautiful thing. Maybe one of the greatest rewards of parenting is realizing that the little human you're raising is already carrying forward some of the lessons you've worked so hard to learn.

From Halloween costumes and yellow brick roads to golf courses, growing up, uncomfortable conversations, and life's unexpected teachers, Episode 19 is a little bit of everything.

Thank you for continuing to take this wild little adventure with us.

    Beeeeee kind out there! 🐝💛

“The art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.”
    — Havelock Ellis

This week on Beez in the Trap, we're talking about the art of letting go. And let us tell ya, sometimes there's nothing better than getting the ol' flow flowing again! Whether it's releasing what no longer serves us, getting a good night's sleep (Abbi, we're looking at you), or simply learning to unclench your jaw while you sleep (Macey, that's your cue), we're realizing just how much we hold on to without even knowing it.

We reflect on last week's episode with our very first guest, Lonnie, and how the experience exceeded her expectations. And if this little podcast of ours becomes nothing more than a safe place for people to come, share their stories, feel heard, and leave a little lighter than they arrived, well, we'd say that's something pretty damn special. ❤️

We also talk about something that can be hard for all of us to admit: sometimes we need help, even when we've convinced ourselves we don't. Macey shares what she's learned about Lakota traditions of intentional release and how she's begun turning her New Year's celebrations into a personal ritual of letting go, making room for whatever life has waiting on the other side.

Of course, we can't stay serious for too long! We get into tattoos and how Abbi seems to have a new one every week, while Macey needs approximately three business years to decide what something means before permanently putting it on her body. 😂

A trip to the thrift store reveals that Abbi is drawn to the CDs while Macey is busy collecting every piece of art and strange little knickknack she can get her hands on.

And somewhere in between all of that, we find ourselves talking about synchronicities, the universe, and what happens when we start paying attention instead of just looking. Are those little coincidences really coincidences? Or is there something to be said for slowing down, listening, and noticing the things life keeps putting in front of us?

And last but certainly not least, we stumble into the mysterious CIA pain code 55515. Does it actually work? Is there something to it? Macey's still a little skeptical, because seriously... why would the CIA just hand that information over? HAHA!

Another week of laughter, curiosity, reflection, and a little bit of everything in between.

Thanks for buzzing with us, Beez! 🐝💛
