I am excited to hear more from Alexander McCall Smith and in his own voice too! As a long time fan of his gentle, shrewd, hilarious and well-observed books, I was extra lucky to meet him at an event I worked at a few years ago where he took time to write a lovely and very much valued greeting in a book I'd bought for my Gran (also a huge fan but unable to make it to the event last minute as she was in palliative care), he was an absolute delight to host in our venue and afterward I saw him have a cuppa and a chat with a group who were unable to safely stand in the queue for book signings so that they didn't miss out. A true gentleman and Scottish treasure who makes me feel better about the world every time I open one of his books - they are like visits with beloved friends - or think about that day. Thank you sir, and I can't wait to listen to the podcast.

Can't wait for this very timely podcast series!
