  • S14 Ep20: Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2026 REVEALED! Alanis Morissette, KISS & Taylor Swift | 90’s NOW
    Jan 30 2026

On this episode of 90’s NOW, Kelly & Sharon break down the newly announced Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2026, featuring Kenny Loggins, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, Alanis Morissette, legendary producer Walter Afanasieff and Taylor Swift, who becomes the second-youngest songwriter ever inducted. (The youngest remains Stevie Wonder, inducted at age 33 in 1983.)

Kelly & Sharon also discuss the notable omissions from this year’s list, including Sarah McLachlan, P!nk, LL Cool J, and Kelly’s all-time fave Janet Jackson - and share their thoughts on who they believe deserves future recognition.

The conversation then turns to the surprising legal dispute between longtime collaborators Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, whose partnership helped define hits for Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, NSYNC, Jay-Z, and their own group N.E.R.D. What led to the split and why is it so unsettling to see two music icons at odds.

Plus, AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys explains why he prefers to go by Alex when he’s not performing, sparking a discussion about artist personas and mental health. We also cover Harry Styles’ return to music, including a new single, album and tour, with Shania Twain set to open his London shows - and reflect on Sheryl Crow previously opening for P!nk on tour.

This week’s listener question: Who would you like to see inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame next? Wrap things up with Kelly’s Trivia and a trip back to 1990 in Sharon’s 90’s Rewind. On this episode of 90’s NOW, Kelly & Sharon dive into several major stories involving some of the most talked-about stars of the 90s and beyond.

We begin with an update on Shannen Doherty’s estate, which is reportedly still navigating unresolved divorce matters nearly two years after her passing. Kelly & Sharon discuss why bringing this chapter to a close would allow her loved ones the peace and healing they deserve, while also reflecting on Shannen’s deep commitment to charitable causes and her close bond with her mother, Rosa.

Kelly Rowland is stepping into a new film titled Relationship Goals, co-starring Method Man, and we share what to expect from the project. • S14 Ep18: Britney Spears Says No More Performing in the USA, Salt-N-Pepa's Masters Fight & the Power of Angela Bassett!
    Jan 16 2026

Britney Spears has declared she’ll never perform in the United States again and Kelly & Sharon unpack what that could really mean. They also discuss Britney’s support of her son’s musical talent and why she’s open to potentially performing with him in the UK and Australia.

The conversation continues with Salt-N-Pepa’s legal battle over control of their music masters, which didn’t go the way they hoped. Kelly & Sharon explain the ruling and discuss why younger artists must fully understand contracts and seek proper legal advice before signing deals that can affect their careers long term.

Kelly & Sharon also celebrate Angela Bassett, who will receive a prestigious award from the American Black Film Festival Honors and reflect on why she was such a powerful presence in the 90s - from her iconic arms to her unforgettable portrayal of Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do with It? Kelly also shares her dream of seeing Angela Bassett, Alfre Woodard, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer together in one film.

Plus, Sarah Jessica Parker is honored with the Carol Burnett Award at the Golden Globes, prompting a conversation about her self-awareness, gratitude, and work ethic throughout her career.
