In this episode, I sit down with award-winning psychiatrist Dr Asif Bachlani to explore what it really feels like to live with both ADHD and autism. We uncover 5 hidden signs of masking AuDHD, the contradictions that can make life feel exhausting, the loneliness of feeling different, and the emotional impact of receiving a diagnosis later in life. Dr Asif also shares the assessment he’ll never forget, and the true cost of spending years hiding who you really are. Having just hit 64 years of age, I have recently been diagnosed separately with Autism and ADHD after spending the last 50 years living life exactly as described in this podcast - it made me feel so much better to learn there are genuine reasons behind my self-perceived disfunctionality. In addition to the well articulated discussions, it has a fantastic tool to enable you to send a link to others for them to listen to the podcast so they can start to understand how we are wired-up. I have just sent it to my wonderful partner who is currently at her wits end with me. Although I wish this type of content was available to help me years ago, I am delighted many other will now benefit from this and help them through their ADHD, Autism or AuDHD journey.
