As her doula, I experienced a few “firsts” myself in her story. Some lessons learned…don’t plan to have your baby at a birth center if you’re not willing to unnecessarily induce yourself by 42 weeks, always make sure the communication between the midwife you’re leaving and the midwife you’re going to is smooth, always check your doula bag to make sure your kids didn't unpack it before you run out the door for a birth, and sometimes using forceps is the best option you have!
