Summary

A heartwarming and hilarious novel from the Sunday Times best-selling author

Tis the season to be jolly.... But can Eve find happiness through the frost?

Eve has never liked Christmas. So when her adored elderly aunt dies, the last thing she is expecting is to be left a theme park in her will. A theme park with a Christmas theme....

And that's not the only catch. Her aunt's will stipulates that Eve must run the park with a mysterious partner, the exotically named Jacques Glace. Who is this Jacques, and why did Aunt Evelyn name him in her will?

But Eve isn't going to back down from a challenge. She's determined to make a success of Winterworld, no matter what. Can she overcome her dislike of Christmas, and can Jacques melt her frozen heart at last?

Lovely Christmassy story

I love that in the beginning Eve is a sceptic who due to previous heartache and loss detests Christmas but as the story progresses she starts to warm to the season.
She is left a theme park which is under construction on the orders of her late aunt. This is something which when she is first told believes to be a joke. She then finds out that the park is not her alone. She has been left this to share with a stranger whom she has never met. Her aunt was very fugal in life so when she find out that her out in motion the construction of a very lucrative business venture she is in awe. She has every intention to mussel out the partner she is landed with and run this place on her own.
Convinced that Mr Jaq Glass, but business partner, is a con man she makes it her mission to find out all she can about him. She discovers that he is an ex service man and that makes her blood boil given that her diseased fiancé wall killed in action.
She believes he is a fraud and to say that she detests him is an understatement.
Little does she know but he was chosen to reawaken her love for Christmas and encourage her to live again.
His arrogance and self assurance just makes her hate him that little but more than she already does.
As time goes on he manages thaw her frozen heart and help her to move on. Just when she thinks that she has lost him for good he comes back and she realises that he is what she has needed all along.
Safe to say that with all good Christmas stories they love happily ever after.

As a side note, the random articles that are dotted throughout this book from the local paper, The Daily Trumpet, are an absolute diamond and hilarious in their own right.

A bit disappointing

I am reading all the books in sequence and the reviews did not live up to expectations. it laks wit and humor.
There is not much meat in this book and parts are a bit cliché

Lovely Christmas story

Having listened to the first in the series I felt compelled to listen to them all. I loved them all but felt that the end of this book could have done with an epilogue.

A Really Good Book

I did enjoy this book & the only downside for me was the main character was frustrating at times.
The story & other characters were brilliant. I'm pleased I finished it though.
I would definitely recommend it.
