Ever noticed that trying to calm down often produces more agitation? Or that real fulfillment can be elusive, despite living a successful life? Often, such difficulties stem from the human brain's hardwired tendency to seek pleasure and avoid pain. Modern science demonstrates that this survival mechanism served the needs of our earliest ancestors, but is at the root of many problems that we face today, such as depression, compulsive and addictive behaviors, chronic pain, and stress and anxiety.

Summary
The form of research-based meditation known as Integrative Restoration (or iRest®) has helped special operations troops improve their resiliency, executives manage stress, cancer patients cope with pain, and trauma survivors experience safety and healing. Now, bring the practice right into your life and home in these 24 classes.
Alternating between the theoretical and experiential, between the philosophical and the scientific, these classes guide you through each of the 10 vital steps of the iRest Yoga Nidra practice. You’ll also enjoy specialized sessions that examine how iRest Yoga Nidra can help you with improving your sleep habits, relieve short-term and chronic pain, manage stressors in work and life, and heal from traumatic injuries or experiences.
Also, enjoy a variety of short- and long-form iRest Yoga Nidra practice sessions you can dive into either in the context of other classes or on their own. With the care, consideration, and guidance you’d expect from a master meditation teacher, Ms. Birkholm helps you with proper positioning, sensing your body, discovering uncaused joy, cultivating your inner resource, and more. The result is an integrated learning experience that invites you to participate in guided meditation techniques that have been adopted by large corporations and the US Department of Defense.
Crafted with joy, peace, and wisdom, these classes are an empowered (and empowering) tool with the potential to reshape the way you react to the world.

Life enhancer
My life has been turned upside down by health issues and coming to terms with and managing a long term incurable illness. This book really helped me get a handle on who I really am I and I feel will help me prepare for what lies ahead. Looking back on the healthy and blissfully unaware parts of my life I wish I had come across this course much earlier to help guide me and recognise who I am. If this sounds a bit overblown just give it a try and find out for yourself

Deep and beautiful!!! Legal care statement can be modified
The material is excellent really feels as if you where in the same room listening Molly, the introduction and presentation of each practice and what is yoga Indra or irest is very clear and human, feel fully embodied. Very somatic. My problem was st the end of each meditation when you want to integrate your practice on tour own and digest it alone in silence, the a very alarming and sharp voice come to say that irest is not a replacement for “profesional care” I lnow for legal reasons the statement has to be said but this could be at the beginner and the tone and voice can go more along this beautiful and deep recording.

Very grateful for this audio book!!!
I love everything about this book, the repetition is really great to learn from, and the conversational bits with examples makes it really interesting. Its good to have the chapters separate for practice and theory- I am listening on the go & so can come back to the practice when ready. The whole tone of voice and language is spot on & helping me find my own voice too. I can’t wait to bring it all in to practice. I will be guiding Nidra soon at a new yoga studio here in Coventry, in Warwickshire, UK so very grateful for the extra guidance. The book is super helpful & simple. I also really like how Nidra is explained to be a part of day to day living as well, it’s helping me check in with myself even more & realign to my goals & intentions even deeper throughout the day!

Not a quality yoga nidra presentation.
They branded yoga nidra “iRest.” If you want to hear the trademark, “iRest” hundreds of times this is your book. Every chapter ends with a legal disclaimer. Molly Birkholm’s pacing and tone is to high energy for guided meditation. The soldier’s interview quality sounds like a Skype call. I’d expect this quality out of a free podcast.
