Summary

United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.

Now I truly, personally understand how Joe Feels.

We were pissed at you Skippy. But then you did your usual Skippy "Magic" and everything is cool again.

Better and better

I agree with someone else comments that this series is getting better.
This is to my recollection the best yet. I love the interplay of the characters and the slow expansion of the elders plot line.

best so far..

wow! this book flew by!.
I found book 4 a little bit.. "more of the same", until the end when it picked up pace..
so really happy with book 5....lots more going on, a bigger story, and way more interesting dilemmas. a change of scenery too which I enjoyed. Skippy n joe are on form as usual and the narrator as in all the books is fantastic.

Awesome & addictive

I am a big fan of RC Bray, but he has out done himself reading this series. Zero Hour is my favourite book of the series so far, I was totally immersed in this fantastic story so articulately written and performed. Joe Bishop faces new challenges, skippy continues to be an an awesome a-hole and that’s all i am going to say, not wanting to give anything away of what transpires in zero hour , can’t wait for Mavericks which will be released in five days . If you like this series you will not be disappointed

this one was the worst no breaks from karma

first let it be noted that I did not buy this book when it came out. I waited for the next book to be made available coz the suspense after book 4 taught me a bitter lesson on suspense.

this author is on my prayer list and I have asked the good Lord to keep him safe and his life drama free so I can figure out if the world is safe or not... ok, I know it's a book so I just need the books to keep coming.

Joe and Skippy must have done something in their past lives to earn so much bad luck. I still think they woke the sentinels up somehow.

how do we keep the planet safe when we are the pond scum of the universe? what's going on with the paradise crew? thanks to my planning I will find out shortly in book 6.

rc bray is a spectacular performer. we are alive in the same time span and we should appreciate the man while he is still here!

Good read but not great

Author could have avoided repeating certain things again and again. If someone completed 4 books and listening to book 5 then am sure they do know how awesome Spec Ops are. Didn't understand what communicating through another space time means. Otherwise a good book.

Funny and addictive.

Great story and I can't wait for another instalment, especially if it is read by RC Bray! his voice brings the story to life.

Magnificent

Crazy monkeys dealing with impossible situations while being berated by a beer can... what’s not to like? Another great edition to this awesome series. I love the relationship between Skippy and Joe it reminds me very much of how close work colleges act, constant banter and the delight when one or the other makes a mistake.

RC Bray absolutely smashes this out of the park I couldn’t imagine anyone else narrating this. If it’s made in to a film he has to be the voice of Skippy.

The only negative I can think of is that the pirates never seem to lose anyone, they are in tremendous danger for most of the book but always come out unscathed.

BUT I LOVE THIS SERIES
