When the USS McClusky (FFG-41) was overrun by the dead, Machinist Mate First Class Jackson Creed, and Marine Sergeant Joel "Cruze" Kelly, were forced to abandon the ship and take their chances in San Diego.

The book was ok, I love the zombie genre but wont be continuing with this series just didnt hold my attention and found the style of writting bored me. There are far better zombie series to listen to

Good characters, good story. Good narrator. One of my favourites, just listened to it again. Want a 4th book because I want more of the characters :D Really well put together, my cup of tea.

An entertaining zombie story. Fairly standard American military personnel fighting endless hordes of zombies book but well written by Timothy W Long. I liked the first person format, the Jackson character and the dialogue. A constant stream of action, gore and bullets. The narration by Todd Menesses is really excellent giving the characters life.. This audio covers the first 2 books and introduces the characters of Jackson and Joel and follows their path off of their warship and into a nightmare city full of zombies, lunatics, para-military groups and heavily armed gangs of survivors. I look forward to continuing the story in future books. Highly recommended for the zombie apocalypse fan. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook from the narrator and am leaving a honest voluntary review
