Summary
The Internet isn't all cat videos. There's also Felicia Day - violinist, filmmaker, Internet entrepreneur, compulsive gamer, and former lonely homeschooled girl who overcame her isolated childhood to become the ruler of a new world...or at least semi-influential in the world of Internet geeks and Goodreads book clubs.
After growing up in the South, where she was 'homeschooled for hippie reasons', Felicia moved to Hollywood to pursue her dream of becoming an actress and was immediately typecast as a crazy cat-lady secretary.
But Felicia's misadventures in Hollywood led her to produce her own web series, own her own production company, and become an Internet star.
Felicia's short-ish life and her rags-to-riches rise to Internet fame launched her career as one of the most influential creators in new media. Now Felicia's strange world is filled with thoughts on creativity, video games, and a dash of mild feminist activism - just like her memoir.
Hilarious and inspirational, You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) is proof that everyone should embrace what makes them different and be brave enough to share it with the world because anything is possible now - even for a digital misfit.

Funny and charming and nerdy :)
I was kind of tangentially aware of Felicia Day's work but plan to seek more of it out after listening to this. Her story is engaging and funny and she does a fantastic job reading it. If you are in anyway at all interested in nerd culture or just enjoy a laugh you will probably get something out of this book. I appreciate that she is not at all apologetic about being a high achiever but is also honest about her anxiety.
It's also quite touching in places - there's a bit with a fan that made me tear up a bit. The gamergate chapter is also really interesting and a thoughtful examination of that ridiculous phenomenon.
I was enjoying it so much, that I listened to it all in one day - so, yes, I recommend this book.
The pdf is available but not, apparently, on my phone.

loved every last word
I picked up the audiobook as my
travel companion for my daily commute. Having been a big fan of Felicia Day for years now I had been looking forward to the book for months. This book, read by Felicia herself, gives wonderful insights into the weird and creative mind of a situationally famous lady gamer/actress/writer/person that made me smile, nod, frequently chuckle and snort but also feel strongly connected during her accounts of her depressions, fears and worries. Hearing her relate her not infrequent struggles with people, the mad mad world and above all herself made me feel okay about my own quirks and struggles.
Great, inspiring and funny memoir.

Funny, inspiring, honest and brilliant
I am not an obsessive gamer, and I only knew of Felicia through shows like Buffy and Supernatural. But you don't need to be a gamer to appreciate what she has to say - it's a witty and brave account of how to CREATE and be true to who you are. Everyone should read / listen to this! You're awesome Felicia! Now I'm off to watch The Guild :D

Fun, honest, serious then resolute
The author gave what feels to be a honest reflection of her life story. She shared 'a few warts and all' aspects with the express intent to better those who might find themselves in the same situation.
The book retains its light hearted charm whilst journey through her highs and low points in her education, acting career and geek queen reign.
Having it read by Felicia Day, the author, made it all the more real and honest.

Fantastic!
Fantastic autobiography and reading. Unapologetically funny (and sometimes heartwrenching) - inspirational.
But Audible : no PDF provided?

Brilliant
Could not recommend this book enough. Felicia's performance is amazing, a lot of ups and downs, very eye opening towards causes for depression and anxiety.

well thought through.
At first I thought this book was a historical case it came across so factual and detailed. After a few hours it goes into story mode. For the first part I thought I will stick with it, but was not blown away. once it gets into a present day narrative and the investigation things just click and the book flows well. the characters become personable and reliable. The further you get in the more enthralling it become.
