Summary

Alice Bennett has been holding a torch for her older brother's best friend, Nate, for more than a decade. He's a hotshot TV producer who travels the world, never staying in San Francisco for too long. But now he's in town and just as tempting as ever...with a bossy streak that makes her weak in the knees and a smile that melts her defenses.

As a successful restaurant owner, Alice is happy with her life. She loves her business and her family, yet after watching her siblings find their happy ever after, she can't help feeling lonely sometimes - but that's only for her to know.

Nate Becker has always had a soft spot for Alice. Despite considering the Bennetts his family, he never could look at her as just his friend's little sister. She's a spitfire, and Nate just can't stay away. He loves making her laugh...and blush.

Their attraction is irresistible, and between stolen kisses and wicked-hot nights, they form a deep bond that has them both yearning for more. But when the chance of a lifetime comes knocking at his door, will Nate chase success even if it means losing Alice, or will he choose her?

Contains mature themes.

love the story, reader as Alice not so much.

This book is great. Loved all the books in the series so far. However, the person who performed as Alice was very hard to understand. I had to turn up the volume just to be able to hear her part. It seemed as if she mumbled and she read the part very fast.

Bennett family love doesn’t fail...again

I love Layla Hagen and the Bennett family. We’ve been getting teased with alice and Nate’s story for several books now and it did not disappoint. Childhood crushes developing into deep, passionate and selfless love seasoned with sassiness and cockiness and this book is just about perfect. I will be so sad when this series is over and all the Bennett’s are settled.

Love the Bennetts!

Bennetts...Bennetts... and more Bennetts! Words cannot describe how much I love the Bennetts! Love Layla Hagen! Love the story of Alice and Nate! A childhood friendship turned relationship type of story if you wanna call it that. It was so sweet how they’ve always had a thing for each other since Alice was in high school. Narrators did an awesome job as well!

Dislike Alices narrator

Love Nate and his narrator, but Alices narrator is killing me🤪 I’m struggling to finish this book. Whoever said that Alice should sound THIS way should get a clue!!! It’s irritating! I’ve loved all the Bennett’s, but my ears and head want to explode🤯

Good book and funny

I love this book. I love the female narrator, I think she did a great job for both voices. Moving on to Blakes story. Can’t wait!

I can’t...

I can’t even finish it. I’m only on chapter 3 and I haven’t even been able to pay attention to that! The narrator is so hard to listen to and very hard to understand at times... would highly not recommend lol

Perfornance was dull

The female voice was monotone and talked too low and fast. I sometimes had a hard time hearing her.

Another sweet and steamy edition

As with the other books in the series, this is a low angst sweet romance. In this case, it's a friends to lover, brother's best friend romance, although in this case, the brothers don't care as much that their sister, Alice, who we met in prior stories, starts to fall in love with Nate, Sebastian's best friend. I really liked the story and I thought that their banter and relationship was well done. The story kind of melds with the others- there's a definite formula and it's low angst but so sweet. I listened via audible escape and these are new to me narrators who did well. Both jo Raylan and Ryan Turner did well, playing multiple characters well. Overall, an enjoyable narration.
