Summary
Before the name became a legend. Before the boy became the man. Meet Bond. James Bond. An Eton boy s family disappears at sea. James uncovers a shadowy society operating in a hidden corner of the school. And far from England, in the bandit-infested interior of Sardinia, a sinister Italian count has built himself a mountain fortress. Is there a connection? Young Bond is about to find out - and face a lethal group of villains beneath the burning Mediterranean sun. James Bond has discovered danger. Now it is come looking for him... This is the second amazing Young Bond adventure from bestselling author Charlie Higson.

Thoughts
I found this is a very satisfying adventure story.
Although most of it held me in suspense it was a cozy story to listen to.
I recommend this for teens or possibly older.
I enjoyed its interpretation of a a younger version of James Bond and it some managed to keep slot of the concepts of the older tales without being sexist.

So good
a second story of James Bond as a child I read the first one and it was brilliant and this one was packed with as much thrill and adventure as the James Bond film's one of the best books that I have read.

Excellent narration
A good fun book much in the style of the Fleming books, but PG rated as it were.
The narrator really does an excellent job bringing this book alive with all its different characters.

Totally capturing my imagination
This is a brilliant book to follow the first story about the young James Bond. The reader has amazing ability to make the characters come to life - a griping story which I didn't want to end. Off to download the 3rd book!!!!

Blood Fever
Love adventure mystery and a happy end then the best thing to listen to is Blood Fever , an amazing story full of murder and lots of mosquitoes . If you like all these things (not necessarily mosquitoes )then listen to this book .😁🤩

Very good, but not best of the Higson series.
A well written Young Bond adventure, but not the best of the superb series by Charlie Higson. A slightly convoluted plot and some weak editing/tightening of story let it down. But still a very high standard that captures the Fleming style and sweep very well. I preferred Double or die, and By Royal Command more though. Well narrated by Nathaniel Parker adds to the tone of Fleming's classic character too.
