A Love story in a spiritual realm of adventure.

Totally loved it! Beautiful story of hope and love and faith and adventure. Twists and turns that were gripping and exciting, set in a world of swords, honour and women of substance.

Perfect conclusion to the trilogy

I really enjoyed the Remnant Chronicles, the first book took a bit of getting into but the second book was absolutely fantastic and this one ties the story up perfectly. The performance is great and the actors really brought the characters to life. I would definitely recommend this series, stick with it if you struggle with book one!

Not enough hours in the day

Only reason I put this down was to sleep and to go to work (I was tempted to phone in sick so I didn't have to go in and could listen to the book, but in the end went in begrudgingly) There was times I worried Mary was steering the story to go a way that I would hate it to go but she pulled me back in and the end was great :) loved it!!! (especially the last 5 minutes :) )

Ending Left Me Feeling Horrible

Where does The Beauty of Darkness rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In terms of narrators, it was very good. I felt on edge and the intensity of emotions throughout.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Very unhappy. If an author writes characters in a way that you grow to love them and want happiness for them, then the reader should get that pay off. The very ending and last chapter even, left me feeling sad and almost empty because it is not what I wanted for the main characters. I wanted more and I wanted to see a bigger glimpse of the future.

What does Emily Rankin and full cast bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Raw emotion, stronger character development.

Any additional comments?

Again, I would rather write my own ending for this story than have the one I got. There is a better way to end it.

Infuriating heroine

This book about killed me to read. I liked the protagonist in the other books and hated her in this one. Ugh! So disappointing. Stupid stupid decisions and the whole "girls can do whatever boys can do" idea was pushed and pushed until it was so unbelievable and bad. The ending...seriously?

Great Finish

Warning, a few spoilers...Well, it was a great read, however, I do wish we could have seen how they worked it out. Also, I was kinda voting for Team Kaden, especially considering where they ended up. But if he didn't get the prize, at least he got someone, and a great someone at that! Kaden deserves a better life after everything. And there are a few other characters I'm curious about. Like Eben and Natiya (not sure if I spelled that right). What are they doing now? Hopefully we will see a novella or two...

Not the End of the Trilogy I Expected

I struggled to finish this one. I read the first book in a day because of how enchanted I was by it. I found myself begging for this 90 chapter story to end after about chapter 50. It dragged on and focused on things that are not important or minutely interesting. I even increased the playback speed to 1.50 and I still was rolling my eyes and waiting for the characters to do something important.

Also, I really didn't like two of the voices used. Especially the old woman who read the ending or beginning passages or each chapter and I really hated Pauline's voice. Since the second book, I skipped to the next chapter every time I heard them start talking.

Overall, I'm disappointed with this book. I will be returning it and not be purchasing the physical copy of this one or the second one. I have the first copy on my favorite books shelf, but I will not be reading past the first book on the future and just come up with my own headcannon ending. Also, I will not be reading anything else from this author in the future. It sounds dramatic, but in my opinion, it is a lot better than the ending we got.

Deceptive as it is Intriguing

So the story comes to a close in the final battle for the love of a man and her people. This was such a well written series with incredible depth of characters closing out all the twists from the other first two of the series. Definitely worth the read/listen.

Great story and LOVED the narrators

I was pulled right into this story and it really never let me go. My only complaint was as much as I loved the characters, i felt that it was always up to the men to prove their love and loyalty. At no point, did Leah ever compromise . I feel as many times as R chased after her and sacrificed for her that just once it should have come from her. Great story!
