Publisher's Summary

The middle of nowhere just got a lot more interesting!

Nerdy astronomy geek Marsha, "M" to her few friends, has never been anybody special. Orphaned as an infant and reluctantly raised by an overly-strict "aunt", she's not even sure who she is. M's dream of someday escaping tiny Jewel, Indiana, and making her mark in the world seems impossibly distant until hot new quarterback Rigel inexplicably befriends her. As Rigel turns his back on fawning cheerleaders to spend time with M, strange things start to happen: her acne clears up, her eyesight improves to the point she can ditch her thick glasses, and when they touch, sparks fly - literally! When M digs for a reason, she discovers deep secrets that will change her formerly humdrum life forever...and expose her to perils she never dreamed of.

    "fantastic narrator"

I understand the narrator is the author's daughter so I get why she told the book so well. Many narrator don't put emotion or feeling into their books and just read the script. This particular narrator acted out the action's of the main character and would change her voice well to go along with the narration which I liked.

The story itself is good and I really look forward to seeing books 2-4 on audio.

    "A WORLD BEYOND THE STARS"

BETHANY BARBER DID AN AMAZING JOB WITH THE NARRATION OF THIS AUDIBLE BOOK.

THIS SERIES IS CLEAN, ADVENTUROUS AND REALLY A GEM IN THE STARS OF BOOKS,
YOU WILL DESIRE TO LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE SERIES AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES FOR TEENS AND OF COURSE ADULTS WILL ENJOY THE ADVENTURE AS WELL.

M IS THE PRINCESS OF MARS AND HAS SPENT HER LIFE ON EARTH AS A HUMAN.
AKWARKED. UNCONFIDENT SHE IS AWESTRUCK WHEN THE NEW QUARTERBACK FOR THE HIGHSCHOOL SHOWS INTEREST IN HER.
BUT THINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM..

WILL M. AND ROGEL FIND A WAY TO STAY TOGRETHER? OR WILL THE POLITICS AND TRADITIONS OF OLD KEEP THEM SEPARATE.
TO FIND OUT READ OR LISTEN TO THE SERIES!!!

I GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE STARSTRUCK!🌌

    "Aggressively Formulaic But Entertaining Enough"

Nothing spectacular but if what you read in the blurb appeals to you then you'll enjoy it. Although it does feel about 100 pages too long, it's drug out a but more than it needs to be. It should be noted that this story suffers from your average nerdy/ judgemental girl meets inhumanly hot boy and spends a lot of the story being catty with the cartoonishly rich/blond/cheerleader character. Which is pretty played out, but like I said before, if you're just looking for some good old fashion teen drama to numb your brain, this will give it to you.
The narrator is good, although she by NO means sounds like a 15 year old, and her attempts to do so at times are almost funny. So it threw me off considerably in the beginning.

"Rare and refreshing!! Clean, respectful and still a great story!"

I really enjoyed this book and it's one that I will absolutely recommend to my daughters when they are older. For once the main characters behaved in a respectful, responsible way and still over came. I love how the teenagers behave the way any parent would be proud to have their child act and the adult "good guys" try to always do what's right regardless of the behavior of the "bad guys." So refreshing!

    "Great Y.A story but"

ONLY the first two books (out of 4) are on audible at this point. I just finished the second and went to buy the next audible and there is none. FRUSTRATING

Other than that this is a very sweet and clean y.a story. Several plot holes but I am great at suspending my disbelief in order to enjoy the story.

    "Excellent romance story for teens"
    Any additional comments?

The author develops the characters well and the dialogues are believable. While the plotline is predictable, there are enough twists to the story to hold the interest of young readers.

    "Fantastic!"

Hiatt has created an incredibly appealing world with characters that Ms. Barber brings to life with charm and impressive variety. Every character has a unique and distinct timbre that is emoted to great effect.

Starstuck is a YA series that feels fresh and fun. The love story between M and Rigel is approached with care so that is really absorbs you and feels both exciting and genuine. It's no surprise that Hiatt has a background in romance novels!

However, Starstruck is not without action. The intensity really builds throughout the course of the story and finishes with an incredible climax that leaves you wanting more. Now I'm so excited for the next book in the series, I don't think I'll be able to wait for it to come out as an audio book! (But hopefully it will :)
