Publisher's Summary

The skeleton detective is coming back to life...again! It's the tenth, triumphant novel in the Skulduggery Pleasant series, and it will rearrange your world.

Skulduggery and Valkyrie are back in the tenth instalment in the best-selling Skulduggery Pleasant series - an incredible and unexpected treat for the legions of fans around the world.

We can't say much but we can say this: Skulduggery and Valkyrie are going to team up with beloved characters from the first nine audiobooks as well as an all-new cast, including new teen co-star Omen Darkly, for an adventure that takes the story to truly global proportions...while answering questions that go right back to the beginning.

And Derek says this: 'I was halfway through Last Stand of Dead Men, I think, when I realised that I had more stories to tell. I told myself that if Skulduggery and Valkyrie survived the series, I would leave the option open of returning to their world. There were still secrets I need to reveal, after all, and there were still horrors they had to face. They survived the first series. But they're really going to wish they hadn't.'

    "Brilliant but hollow return"

Brilliant story, everything I love about this world has been brought to life again.
But I deeply missed the deep rich tones of Stephen hogan, it just wasn't the same.
Caroline isn't a terrible narrator but I struggled to tell the difference between the characters.
If Stephen or a similar narrator could come back and redo this story it would be amazing

    "The Narration.."

I am a huge fan of skulduggery pleasant and derek landy, have been since I was a kid, but I found this audiobook difficult to get through with the new narrator even though it's such a good book, really missing Stephen hogan

"Great story shame about the narrater"

I so love Derek Landy’s work, he is a fantastic writer and has an amazing sense of humour. Especially in the skullduggery pleasant books. The first few books brought to life by Rupert degas are amazing, a little hiccup with Brian Bowles on book 5 but later Stephen hogan put his own fantastic stamp the last few books. I found Caroline Lenin’s reading, just that, a reading. Unlike Degas and Hogan who preformed each book. Caroline Lennon does stellar work but in my opinion she was not the wright fit for this book. I am extremely disappointed I downloaded it. I would dearly love if they redo with Stephen Hogan or better again Rupert Degas. The book it’s is fantastic, but I say buy a hard copy and read it yourself because this version does not do it justice. I’m sorry to be negative this is just my opinion.

"Reader not very good in my opinion"

It's hard to tell the difference between the characters as she seems to just use her normal voice for a lot of them or only changes them slightly... guy or girl... they sound the same.

    "A bit too serious"

Skulduggery pleasant has been a solid stream of five star books, but well this was a good book it lacked the light-hearted flair I associate with this series. I get that the previous book ended in trauma, so characters need to deal with the aftermath and psychological effects, but this got a bit too heavy.
There is a new character joining the team, and he is a useless wimp. I sincerely hope that in the future skulduggery books he jumps from the defenceless little boy into the actual useful team member who can trade witty banter with skulduggery and Valkyrie. Actually, I would prefer him not to feature as a main character in future, unfortunately that doesn't appear to be an option.
My third and final problem with this book is that it has clearly not been written to stand alone in any way, this is clearly the first part of a trilogy with A preplanned story arc with prophecy is already determining the future and the most unstoppable threat on the horizon already.
Having discussed the book, I would now like to just point out as an after thought that the choice of reader is utterly incomprehensible. The female reader is unable to properly perform still dungarees voice, in addition to which she cannot particularly do a wide range of accents. I only upped my grade to 2 stars as I got used to the change.

The story was awesome, like all the other books, but the delivery was horrible. Sounds like they hired the first Irish person they saw.

"What a book to come out on my birthday"

I liked the way the act was played out and the way the narater imitateing the voices bad ones and evil once. I and i hope more skulduggery book follow this one. I dont think there was something to dislike and i would reckermend this book to people who like fantence action and other. I gave it this rateing because it is abit funny when someone at a touch that person goes crazy least of all skullduggery him self that was very funny.

"An inspirational story- Until the end. "

Derek Landy has proven yet again; that no matter how much Hell his Characters are put through, they can still get up, adjust their hat, make a joke and carry on pulverising the bad guys.
Thank you for bringing Skulduggery and Valkyrie back together!

A good new beginning but unfortunately the narration performance is lacking, especially when compared to the previous 9 books.
