Summary

The second book in the exciting Predator Cities series!

When Tom and Hester's little scrapyard aircraft is pursued by rocket-firing gunships, the ice city offers sanctuary. But it is no safe refuge. Devastated by plague and haunted by ghosts, Anchorage is heading for the Dead Continent.

Exciting adventure

Even better and more exciting than the first one!! This only makes me more excited to listen to the 3rd and 4th books, although will be surprised if they beat this book.

Wow, this second book in series is even better than the first. A performance to match the greats and a story that will hook you from the start. Enjoy

Traction cities move on!

I read the book with my son a few years ago . Revisiting it through Audible has been great fun, and Barnaby Edwards’ narration is first rate. The characterisations are first rate, the plot draws you in, and I was completely emersed in the world of traction cities. Can’t wait to get started on ‘Infernal Devices’

Felt like a forced sequel

Enjoyed the first book, performance is good as before. However, disappointed by the story which seemed to shoehorn characters to fit the plot rather than allow the plot to emerge naturally from the characters. As a result, most character actions/motivations felt forced or unrealistic or simply out of character.
Also, the beginning half of the book felt as though it was needlessly padded out for word count, with all of the story back loaded to the final half of the book (which was far more enjoyable than the first half.)

Worth a listen if you really liked the world of the first book and crave more, otherwise give it a miss.

Fascinating Story World

The story is strongly written and the world building is interesting and original. Well done.

A roller-coaster of emotion

Sometimes 8 was tempted to set it down and never pick it back up. Not because it's boring. But because it is frustrating. Still, it's worth the read. And it's enough to get me to spend another $12 on the next book.

entertaining

Great story wish it was more detailed though. You feel that this series could be much more if it added more character building and back stories to it. Still a great book.

excellent book

even though Scholastic published these books, they can be pretty gruesome and grown up. Not for younger kids.

I just kept saying to myself, "so danged creative" while listening to this book and the first.

A fun read, has slow points but a great finish

Wonderful read but kind of a slow beginning. If you stick with it though it is very rewarding. Fantastically imaginative vehicles and A new realm of traction wonder. If you are a fan of the first book, highly recommend this read.
