They say everyone’s a superhero to someone. I’m not sure who I’m supposed to save, but I know who saved me. His name was Christopher. Nico Medina's world is 11 miles away from mine. During the day, it's a place where doors are open - where homes are lived in, and neighbors love. West End is the kind of place that people survive. It buries them - one at a time, one way or another. And when Nico was a little boy, his mom always told him to run.
Having spent most of her senior year flying under the radar, the last thing Ella Lockhart expected was to have a tornado rip straight through her house, leaving her homeless. It's bad enough that the whole school now pities her, but did her parents have to let the neighbors take them in?

In fifth grade my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed. It didn't take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever. For the next seven years, it was us. She's the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.
These Royals will ruin you...Ella Harper is a survivor - a pragmatic optimist. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums.
No doubt about it, Sebastian "Oz" Osborne is the university's most celebrated student athlete - and possibly the biggest douchebag. Jameson Clarke may be the university's most diligent student - but she is no prude. Spending most of her time in the hallowed halls of the library, James is wary of pervs, jocks, and douchebags - and Oz Osborne is all three. She's smart, sarcastic - and not what he expected....
She's the coach's brilliant daughter, clueless about love. He's the dethroned football star, ready to teach Romance 101. When dark secrets and sparks collide, there's no playbook for what happens next.
The day Andrew Levin arrives at Washington High, Harper O'Malley knows he'll make the perfect starter boyfriend. The school's newest band geek is totally in Harper's league, yet completely out of this late-bloomer's reach. Between fitting in with a new family, scoring the first chair in band, and rescuing dogs for the local animal shelter, Harper's never had the opportunity to hone her dating skills. But even though Harper's love life is far from perfect, she's got the perfect plan.
Harper knows she's insane to agree to tutor Ridley Estes, a notorious heartbreaker and the star of her high school's football team - but in exchange, he's offered to school her in the game of love. Just when she sees promise with her crush, a football scandal rocks her family, her town, and Ridley's entire future. Harper suddenly has everything to lose - her family, friends, and even her heart. When the dust of the scandal settles, nothing will be the same, including the girl who asked the most popular jock to teach her about love.
When I read the first two chapters of this book, I had to stop and put it down because I knew heartbreak and devastation was ahead. So I waited days before picking it up again. But I am SO glad I did. This book was real and raw and beautiful. But so we're the truths revealed and the lessons of forgiveness and love. I absolutely love Harper and Ridley and wouldn't mind an O'Malley update down the road. Unquestionably 5 Stars!!!

I really enjoyed the story as I am a big fan of Jenny B Jones. While I am new to audiobooks I felt that I didn't enjoy the story as much because of the narrator. Her southern accent was not consistent from character to character and was not believable. I did enjoy the story but almost gave up on it a few times.

There is so much depth to the characters and story. My new favorite book. I'm going to check out the other books from this author.

Great story about unconditional love, forgiveness, redemption and that past experiences don't need to define us. Narrator was great too.
