Publisher's Summary

Drew is caught in a world of light - just inches away from the dark.

What if...there was a world beyond our vision, a world just fingertips beyond our reach? What if...our world wasn't beyond their influence?

Tragedy and heartache seem to be waiting for Drew Carter at every turn, but college offers Drew a chance to start over - until an accident during a physics experiment leaves him blind and his genius friend, Benjamin Berg, missing.

As his sight miraculously returns, Drew discovers that the accident has heightened his neuron activity, giving him skills and sight beyond the normal man. When he begins to observe fierce invaders that no one else can see, he questions his own sanity, and so do others. But is he insane or do the invaders truly exist?

With help from Sydney Carlyle, a mysterious and elusive girl who offers encouragement through her faith, Drew searches for his missing friend, Ben, who seems to hold the key to unlocking this mystery. As the dark invaders close in, will he find the truth in time?

"Great story can't wait to hear the next one"

I loved the premise of the story, the spiritual world opening up to an unbeliever and what it looks like to him, it's about half way through before it really opens up and now can't wait to her the sequel. As close to the genius Frank peretti's this present darkness series as I've found

    "Not an Angel Worshipping Book"

I am glad that this story gives God the glory through Jesus Christ our Lord and NOT angels, who are mighty spirit servants. Outstanding job Chuck Black. Outstanding!!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I enjoyed the story line, the development of the characters, the exploration of the impact of the spiritual realm upon daily life, etc.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to it all in almost one sitting...on a road trip from Tulsa to Washington, D.C.

    "Very entertaining!"

Entertaining story, and will continue the series! A few of the character voices were annoying, but able to work through it.

    Story
"Perhaps the best christian suspense we have heard"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It is very well written, with great character development. An interesting plot, a great storyline and excellent development.

There is enough to keep you interested in the characters of the story and their relationship to each other, even without the wonderful tale that is spun around them.
The narration is one of the best we've ever heard and draws you into the novel quickly.
From there, the authors skill with words and artistic storytelling wont let you go.
As soon as you finish listening to this book, I guarantee you will want to purchase the next book in the series.

What other book might you compare Cloak of the Light to and why?

"The door within", by Wayne Thomas Batson is comparable for the excellent storyline and character development as well as artistic talent. The tales told in that series may be better, however, I think Chuck Black is perhaps a slightly better writer and this series may have the edge because of it.

Have you listened to any of Michael Orenstein and Katie Leigh ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard the narrators other performances before, but I will be sure to search for other books that they have read now - they are the best!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    It was wonderful!

    Any additional comments?

I can't recommend it highly enough!
