Summary

The unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code is the third book in the unbelievably brilliant Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. Read by the actor Gerry O'Brien.

Artemis Fowl is attempting to go straight. But there's always time for one last job. Artemis Fowl has created the most powerful new supercomputer known to man - using stolen technology from an elite race of underground fairies. And when the computer falls into the hands of an IT billionaire with a shady past and an alleged mob connection, Artemis is in deep trouble. The consequences for humans and fairies alike are deadly. Only one person, well, fairy, can help him now. If only Artemis Fowl wasn't the fairies' public enemy number one...

Shortlisted for the Whitbread Children's Book of the Year Award.

Action adventure; Artemis evolves (or does he?)

My two boys (aged 8 and 10) loved this latest installment. There were lots of twists in the plot that they were not expecting - like Artemis showing more emotion than in any of the other books (love? loyalty? understanding?). It is nice to see some of the more minor characters (e.g. Butler's sister) given more of a fleshed out role.

There are plenty of cliff hangers, which is handy if you are an adult and need to find a decent place to turn it off. Cue protests from the back of the car!! You don't need a 3 hour drive for this one, as the story is pretty pacey from the first chapter. The end is just one MAJOR cliff hanger, so we will definitely be buying the next book.

The narrator has a good range of voices and the recording is nice and clear. Highly recommended.
