Summary

That moment when you realise...you have absolutely no clue.

Emily Jones is a new mum: she's bought the swank buggy, planned her labour soundtrack, read the books. Then her little girl actually arrives, and Emily realises: she has all the gear, no idea - and only 12 months of maternity leave to figure it out. Lonely but not alone, it's the women Emily befriends in this first year who really see her through to the other side.

Perfect for fans of The Unmumsy Mum, Louise Pentland and Gill Sims.

An unexpected delight.

So, I don’t suppose I’m really in the target demographic for this book but, Audible recommended it, so I thought I’d give it a go. I’m glad I did, it was a joy from start to finish. Brilliant characters and a cleverly constructed plot told with humour and a little sadness meant it was one of the most true to life and relatable books I’ve read or listened to in a long while. I thought the narrator was fantastic too and really tuned in the to the essence of the book. Good work.

So familiar, funny, touching and real. The perfect distraction post surgery. I absolutely loved it.
