Summary

When I was 15, a single bullet changed my life. I spent the next decade trying to outrun the devastation of my past, building an empire that would shield me from whatever life could throw at me.

But all the money in the world couldn’t help me when I found a screaming newborn abandoned on my doorstep.

I’d never wanted to be a father. Passing the sludge that ran through my veins down to an innocent child seemed like a tragedy. But there she was - pink cheeks, red hair, and mine.

Somehow, against all logic, that little girl became the best thing that ever happened to me. It was impossible to stay lost in the past when I was the only one who could protect her future.

Which is exactly why, when her mother came back four years later, I was ready for battle.

If only I could stop myself from falling in love with her during the war.

Took me a little while to take out the freezer!

OK, so in my go to Joey from Friends style of putting the sad book in the freezer so it can't hurt you.. This book remained there for a day whilst I prepared (and went to the Facebook world for emotional support!)

At the end of the first book, I really couldn't see how this 2nd book could ever get happy. I imagined all the ways which things could play out and came up with nothing!
So, I put on my big girl pants and started the book! ...
Holy-frickin'-Moly!!! This book is AMAZING!! The twist, the turns... and the reveals!! There were moments where I even outwardly cursed (You know a book is good if it gets you actually shouting!)
This is a must have read/listen! You will not be disappointed!

The performance was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot explain how these guys just work... You need to listen for yourself!

Heartbreaking and beautiful in equal measure.

Loved this story and narration. The conclusion was to this duet was so heart breaking, with all their broken pieces coming together it was poetic and heart breaking in equal measure.

The ending threw me a bit although I knew something big was looming.

And the sweetest of epilogues- Rosie is such a sweetheart! My heart genuinely bursting with happiness.

Fantastic book 2!!!!

Sometimes a duet doesn’t give you the feels that book 1 does but there’s no need to worry about that with this duet. Superb 👌🏻

WOW - Ally Martinez Does It Again

This, like it's partner in the Regret Duet, is a beautiful, well crafted novel. I was pulled in at the beginning of Page One - Chaos, tragedy and one very innocent touch from a very young ‘protector’, leave two people linked for life. Yet neither person knows until several years later.
This story is full of twists, turns and surprises.
Aly I loved this Duet. Fantastic writing and great Narraters too.
If I could give ten stars, I would. A great read.

Audible plot-twisting awesomeness!

I was absolutely blown away with series. I couldn't put them down. There are so many plot twists in this book and you never see them coming! Wow!! The characters are deeply complex and flawed in absolutely believable ways. I seriously felt like I needed a seat belt with this one. Very tragic story at the heart of it, but shows the ability for healing and love in the face of great loss. Some of the cutest daddy-daughter moments and hottest scenes in this one. I needed a seat belt, and some spare knickers.

Once again, Andi Arndt and Christian Fox are audible awesomeness in this one!

Awesome, sweet story with tiny bits of steam!

Fantastic duet with a fresh and captivating storyline. Very few steamy scenes, but the plot compensates. Definitely worth the two credits!!

AN UNPREDICTABLE & ALL-CONSUMING 10 ⭐️ DUET

What a wonderfully intense unstoppable duet this was.. I binge listened til the angst, drama, twists and nightmares were finally over and then I wallowed in the afterglow of a well deserved HEA ending. The fractured journey Caven, little Rosie and the heroine went through to finally put the memories and demons of their pasts to rest was full of potholes but somehow they managed to go round, leap or claw their way into each other’s arms. The loving tight bond that Caven and four year old Rosie had was so damn sweet and when they made room in their hearts for one more they made the perfect family.

Worth a credit? AM has written a stupendous well-written original story that had high anxiety, touching romance, splashes of humor, healing sentiments and a river of love love love.. and the wonderful narration bought all the never-ending emotional feels to life in the best possible way and I inhaled every perfect word of it. A powerful and memorable duet.. and yes definitely creditworthy.

Caven and Willow

This is a great story continued from book 1. This had all the feels and will tear you apart in a moment or two. There is some unexpected events and Rosalie steals the show. I would totally recommend this story. Narration is great!

Second book as good or better than the first

The plot twists kept coming in the second book of this duet. The characters continued to evolve and the plot still surprised. I wish this duet would of become a series!
