way too much god

if you want to know about Shawn Michael's faith this is for you. His wrestling career is covered lightly but never to the depths wrestling fans who aren't interested in his faith would want.

Wrestling for my life

In general I really enjoyed this. The book is centered around his Christian faith and how he feels this has affected every area of his life. There are plenty of wrestling anecdotes to enjoy. The reader was very good but It would have been preferable if the author had read it himself as it was obvious in certain places that the reader wasn't familiar with the subject.

Less God more Shawn Please

I understand it has been a huge part of his life, but if youre expecting a book about his career it may be better to look at his other release. This tends to focus more on his faith than career

Not about his wrestling career

If you want to know about Shawn’s faith and his Christian beliefs then this is the book for you however if like me you wanted to read about his career in wrestling then you will be disappointed. The book is very well written and is nice to see that he has come out the other side of a wrestling career with a good family life and purpose but overall I was disappointed as I wanted a book about his wrestling.

Not particularly interesting

It’s basically extended propaganda for Christianity. The focus on Shawn’s career and his life is fleeting. Avoid.

Good but way too religious

I enjoyed listening about shawn Michael's career but most of the reading was about Christianity. It would have been better if it focused more on other topics.

Inspirational

An amazing life biography of Shawn Michaels.

1) I was less interested in his wrestling because I have seen and heard all of this before.

I was closed minded to religion until before I heard this biography and now, less so.

HBK turned my head and turned me towards Casting Crowns and Dr Dobson.

2) It would help if the narrator knew the subject matter better or how to pronounce some names. It's clear that he is not in know. But he grew on me.
His cadence is of a story teller.

Narration problems

The book was excellent, full of relatable stories and struggles that make a legend seem like the guy next door. The problem is the reader. He did a fine job but he isn't Shawn. We know Shawn's voice and it was hard to get past that it wasn't his voice telling his stories. If Shawn read this, this would be 5 stars across the board.

Love hearing about the other side & the relationship with God

As a long time Wrestling fan, now at the age of 42, I have seen my fair share of matters. I have gone through the phase a brand-new naïve and thinking about all of this was real. Real meaning not scripted. I was wrapped up in the excitement of the matches screening and chanting until I lost my voice. As I grew older I learned to appreciate the psychology of a match, the tempo, working the crowd, etc. It was in the latter phase that I became more interested in the personalities in the behind the scenes lives of the wrestlers. This book was right up the alley. As a Catholic, it was interesting to hear about the transformation in the inclusion of God on their lives. Thank you for a very good listen.

Not a bad book

Shawn talks mostly about his faith in God. I'm okay with that but there wasn't much else besides the topic of God.

Awesome book anyone can relate to

This book exceeded my expectations. Such a great listen to hear a man spill his guts out and just be honest about personal issues he's had and sometimes he still struggles with. This is the kind of book that will make you strive to be a better man, and not in the whole bible bashing way......just in
the way of trying to be a decent human being whatever faith or beliefs you may have. MUST READ.

Cool story

Got it down in one day. Didn't like the reader because he butchered Triple H's name and sounded weird doing crown chants.
