Summary

My heart's about to get wrangled in Chad's wicked little game.

I left behind my countryside hometown of Spruce, Texas and my teenage tormentor Chad Landry to start over, pursue a career, and make a new name for myself.

Fast forward 10 years, and I'm back in Spruce for my high school reunion to confront my past and to face the boy who made my teen years hell. I'm no longer the vulnerable teenager I once was, and I'll guarantee you this: Chad won't have any power over me.

But all the mental preparation in the world couldn't possibly prepare me for the sight of the hot, gorgeous, and hunky rancher that Chad has become, nor the secret he's been waiting 10 long years to tell me.

Chad's got things to say. And I've got a score to settle.

Someone's poor little heart is about to get wrangled in a game it is sure to lose.

Contains mature themes.

Absolute Wonder

I laughed, I cried, I hoped, I was in suspense. I didn’t want this story to end. I got so invested in the story I listened to it in 2 days. Every spare minute I got had it playing. Already downloaded my next book by this author!

Heart-warming story

The story was filled with realistic characters and plausible plot. Cross-over Characters from other books by Darryl Banner give it a warm, small-town feel with people you would like to know.

Excellent Series!

Daryl Banner will bring you into the unique world of Spruce where there's hope for a better future. Each story builds somewhat on the last and I look forward to reading more of his work. The narrator also brings the characters to life in a way that is relatable and emotionally real. If you haven't read a gay romance series yet, start with this one! Two thumbs up!

What a pleasure to be Wrangled!!

I love Daryl Banner. His stories never fail to please and usually have the most engaging characters.
Wrangled ties up lose ends and raw emotions from high school as its students gather at their tenth reunion celebration.
Wounds are healed, friendships rekindled and loves that should have been are now given a chance. How many of us might wish for that?
Kudos to Chris Chambers for an absolutely outstanding performance.

These two are really cute together.

High school bully and nerd. Coming together 10 yrs later. High school reunion. Chad just doesn’t know what to do. His feelings for Lance are coming to the surface at a full run. He just a lonely cowboy. Lance just a lonely fashion designer. Come together at the reunion. Lance goes back to his world and kind of falls apart. They have to work together to work it out. Good story.

Spruce has my heart!

I love Daryl Banner, this series has me hooked so bad and I cannot wait for more to come out. All his books should be on Audible. The writing keeps you captivated from beginning to end. Great characters, amazing love themes and romance enough to make you hungry for love of your own. The town has captivated my heart, I’ve read the entire series so far and can’t wait for more. Definitely a recommended series! I wish all of them were made into movies soon.

Sweet Ending to the Series!

I really appreciated this final installment of the Spruce, Texas romances..., hoping there might be additional offerings! I found some of the "pained" reviews interesting, but have to disagree with a couple that felt the idea of a high school bully-turned-lover was demeaning and dismissive of the pain caused to the tormented.

While I can understand the depth of feelings involved in such a formative period in life, I felt the author thoroughly gave voice to the hurt, pain, and resentments of the young man involved. Chad (& company) WAS held to account for his past choices and behaviors during the reunion. Nothing was swept under the rug, nor allowed to be excused as "youthful exuberance."

Moving forward with strength, compassion, and forgiveness gave Lance the true healing, and not having to remain a victim to his past. Taking control of ones' life is what maturity is all about. What the MCs ultimately created for their lives is what success is all about.

Hot, steamy romance detailed their love, and a clear vision for both of their futures felt very satisfying. Truly enjoyed this fourth book, and Chris Chambers did an excellent job. I love his sexy, caring deep voice as it guided me through this beautiful story!!

uggggggghhhhhh 😡😔

I really had high expectations for this book, and the narrator did an excellent job, but I DNF at maybe 85%? I am so close to finishing but I just can't handle anymore of the MC; he is almost perfect and has "teaching" moments with everyone. The two MCs also have communication issues and seem almost unequal. Sadly, the way the story unfurled was just supremely unsatisfying for me and what I enjoy in a romance.
