Story
Why do some products get more word of mouth than others? Why does some online content go viral? Word of mouth makes products, ideas, and behaviors catch on. It's more influential than advertising and far more effective. Can you create word of mouth for your product or idea? According to Berger, you can. Whether you operate a neighborhood restaurant, a corporation with hundreds of employees, or are running for a local office for the first time, the steps that can help your product or idea become viral are the same.

Why do smart people make irrational decisions every day? The answers will surprise you. Predictably Irrational is an intriguing, witty and utterly original look at why we all make illogical decisions. Why can a 50p aspirin do what a 5p aspirin can't? If an item is free, it must be a bargain, right? Why is everything relative, even when it shouldn't be? How do our expectations influence our actual opinions and decisions? In this astounding audiobook, behavioural economist Dan Ariely cuts to the heart of our strange behavior....

Story
When it comes to persuasion, success can begin before you say a word. In his global best seller Influence, Professor Robert Cialdini transformed the way we think about persuasion. Now he offers revelatory new insights into the art of winning people over: it isn’t just what we say or how we say it that counts but also what goes on in the moments before we speak. This is the world of ‘pre-suasion’, where subtle turns of phrase, seemingly insignificant visual cues and apparently unimportant details of location can prime people to say yes even before they are asked.

Story
World-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck, in decades of research on achievement and success, has discovered a truly groundbreaking idea - the power of our mindset. Dweck explains why it's not just our abilities and talent that bring us success - but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset. She makes clear why praising intelligence and ability doesn't foster self-esteem and lead to accomplishment but may actually jeopardise success.

Marketing info you can use straight away.
If you could sum up Word of Mouth Marketing: How Smart Companies Get People Talking in three words, what would they be?
As well as going into the theories of Word of Mouth Marketing, this books main strengths is the action steps that make it so simple to implement those theories. Along with worksheets from the Authors website. I have already started to use these methods and gained a customer.
What did you like best about this story?
The info contained
What does Dave Mallow bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I dont think he really adds anything. Its hard to do that with a factual book. He makes the book easy to listen to , even for longs periods with great variation in pitch in tone
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I certainly had a few Ah Ha moments if that counts
Any additional comments?
Get it if you run a business or you are in charge of promoting one. Also great tips for Charities as well.

Nothing you don't already know
Who do you think would benefit most from listening to Word of Mouth Marketing: How Smart Companies Get People Talking?
Worth the listen if you are in marketing - it's always good to let tips and tactics seep deeper into your subconscious, but the book is neither riveting nor profound by any means.

Absolutely trivial
Full of trivialities, nothing substantial, eye opening or relevant. Outdated taking into account the current scenario in Social Media.
