A good reference.

This is a very good reference to have in the shop. It starts with the whole tree and the methods of breaking trees into usuable materials. There are discussions of the different methods of sawing timber to how veneer is sliced. There is a section on man made lumber plywood, particle board, paneling etc. Most of the tools used to create finished wood products are discussed in detail and finally a nice section on carving.

Good!

Bought this as a gift for my husband. He was already good at woodworking but knew he could learn more so he asked for a book on the topic for Christmas. He loves this book and frequently tells me of new tips he has learn or of improved information on skills he has used. So glad he likes it!
