Summary

Fifty years ago, a little boy was cast in a movie with some of Hollywood's brightest stars. The movie: It's a Wonderful Life; the boy: Jimmy Hawkins; today, he tells his story.

Through personal recollection, careful research, and interviews with cast and crew, actor Jimmy Hawkins, who played four-year-old Tommy Bailey, takes you behind the scenes for a first-hand look at the American movie classic It's a Wonderful Life.

You'll meet Jimmy Stewart, Frank Capra, Donna Reed, and all the people who made Bedford Falls America's favorite small town. Their memories and anecdotes take you through the movie's creation, from auditions and casting to building the set and making the snow.

This book is a warm and intimate look at the magical film that has touched so many hearts.

One for fans of the film

I enjoyed this, but then I love the film and stories about the golden age of Hollywood. This has a bit of everything. Stories, anecdotes, fondly remembered moments with the actors. It's sweet and interesting, and lovely tribute to one of the greatest Christmas movies ever made.

Very enjoyable

Some great archive interviews and background information to a marvellous film. A worthy companion piece to the film.
