Summary

I was burned at the stake at 14....

I was drowned in a lake when I was 24....

At 27, I was stoned in a public square....

I have died a hundred times in a hundred different ways, usually at the hands of the humans I've tried to save. But when a pregnant young woman finds her way into my tattoo shop with a demon on her tail, things go from bad to worse. Being a centuries-old witch isn't going to help me - nothing will.

This time I might just die in a way that sticks...permanently.

Interesting story, horrible narration

It took a few attempts to get through this due to the narration. The story is at times witty, at times gruesome and an intriguing, if a little slight, supernatural fantasy. The narration is DIRE, I’ve never had to slow a book down before but this narrator reads at a breathless pace with no pauses. Just to get coherent sentences I had to slow it down. The voice of the heroine is fine if kind of nasal and whiny, the other character voices are dire and hard to distinguish, the accent work is even worse. Think I’ll have to read the next book if I want to know more, couldn’t take that narration for even another hour!

narration terrible but I enjoyed the story

Really bad narration of this book, as previously said, read at speed with no breaths or pauses, tried to slow it down but that didn’t work as speech went weird, terrible nasal voice of the woman, and how does a uk accent sound like an Aussie accent. I enjoyed the story and would really like to try the next book if I can cope with Cassandra Parker’s awful narration. Do the authors or publishers/audible check on the quality of narration as this one definitely slipped through the net and ruined an otherwise decent book

Total drivel don’t waste a credit

Didn’t even make end of chapter 2
Should have paid attention to another review where they mentioned the truly horrible narration, if the story weren’t so dull I might have stuck it out but the reader has a dreadful drawl and she speaks with a nasally twang which grates on one’s ears!!!!
