One of my favorites

I have read this book (and the other three books in the series) about once a year since it came out; one of my absolute favorite series, The Immortals. Full Cast Audio has made it even better since now I can enjoy it at work! The narration can be a little stilted but still enjoyable. I think they did an amazing job with the casting as well. I highly recommend any Full Cast Audio books, as well as any of Tamora Pierce's other books.

Finally, we get number 2

Having purchased Wild Magic, the first book in Pierce's Daine trilogy, I have been waiting a long time for this one. (They say that Emperor Mage, number 3, should be available around November.)

This is one of those books that I liked even better as an audiobook - Full Cast Audio did their usual excellent job.

A classic

this was my first introduction to Tamora's writing. the series is brilliant and charming. I have perhaps read/listened to this series once every couple of years since my father read it to me when i was 12.
each time I listen or read I pick up new little details I didn't get the last time.

Opening new eyes

This book is wonderful. It's amazing how Tamora can take a race a monsters, that in her last book she showed as monsters and make them sympathetic, and even likeable. I didn't see that coming. I love the way she changes Dane and then by extension me. The new creatures in this book are wonderful. I like that she uses some things that we have seen before but with a different spin on them then also introduces us to new creatures that I have never heard of or even imagines before.
This entire series is a pleasure.

Loved it!

I loved all the different voices and I love this story from my childhood. The music was also very nice interludes.

Everything was great except....

I really enjoyed the book, and the performance was awesome....except for the ogre. The voice came across as stupid instead of simple or uneducated.
