Summary

Four renegade wolf shifters. An innocent young woman trapped in a web of lies. When their fates collide, sparks will fly....

Diagnosed with a rare terminal illness, I’ve spent over half my life in the Strand Corporation’s state-of-the-art treatment facility. I keep my chin up and do everything the doctors order, praying one day I’ll walk out of here in perfect health.

But when that day finally arrives, it’s nothing like I hoped it would be. Instead, it comes in a hail of gunfire, along with four distractingly handsome men who say they’re here to rescue me.

On the run with these mysterious men and hunted by the very people I believed were my caretakers, I begin to realize nothing is what I thought it was.

Turns out, I’m not really sick. I’m not completely human either....

Wolf Hunted is the first audiobook in The Last Shifter series, a slow-burn reverse harem story. If you love heroines with guts, hot alpha men, whychoose romance, and edge-of-your-seat action, dive into this thrilling new series today!

Action Packed

The beginning started off nice and calm, and then chaos. There was so much action, everything on the edge of your seat including the end. This is a slow burn because even though there's four guys she doesn't go all the way with any..yet. The narrator did a fantastic job giving unique voices to everyone. Now I have to rush to find book 2!

An Interesting Listen

This was an interesting listen. The storyline is well done and the characters are nicely developed. There's action, adventure, romance and shifting. The only problem I have is that this book ends on a major cliffhanger. As another reviewer pointed out, the author could have let the book end a bit earlier and then started the next book with the drama, that would have been much better. With that said, the story is good and worth your time. However, if you don't care for cliffhangers then you should wait until the next book is out before listening to this one. The narration by Laurel Schroeder is nicely done. She does give each character their own voice and emotions but i would have liked a bit more difference in the male voices. Also she seems to have a "crisp" edge to her voice from beginning to end and I think if she just relaxed a bit more while reading then it would have been better. Overall, I did enjoy listening to this book and I look forward to the next installment.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

3.5 overall but still recommend

I think this is definitely a YA book...pretty full of hormones and not much character development.
I'm a little peeved at how the innocent and sheltered main character is from being raised in a medical compound, yet she's all about dropping the F bomb every minute like one of the guys. It's a little too fast for a character to change... especially since I didn't hear any of that while she was in the compound.
I still recommend it though, and I'm going to buy the second one because I have to with this dang cliffhanger. uuugh.

edit: audible doesn't have the rest of the series. 😑

Devoured and excited for more

This is the first book I have read/listened to by this author, and I am excited to read/listen to more of her work. Characters are well defined, and I like that the characters don't jump to insta-lust the first time they meet. The book moves fairly quickly, and I was saddened when I realized that it was over. Luckily this is a completed book series, so I won't need to wait to find out what happens. I will just have to circle back for the audios.

Good supernatural book

This was a good book with a good narrator. I thought I was having déjà vu during chapter 16 where she is in bed and Jackson lays next to her and they talk, decide they are going to a club, and then it happens all over again. About 5 to 6 minutes is duplicated. Other than that, I would like to continue on with the series but books 2 through 4 are not available on audiobook. Keep that in mind if you get book one that you won’t be able to finish the series via audiobook.

Captivating Shifter Story

This book grabbed me quickly from the start and held my attention through out. I grew to care about the characters and their interactions early on and enjoyed how the author advanced the relationships. The narrator is one of my faves with her perfect pacing and distinct character voices she brings this story to life in such a way that I found it difficult to put down. There are so many unanswered questions and with this book ending on a cliffhanger I am definitely excited for book 2.

Ends with a huge cliffhanger...

so if you are expecting that 'happy ever after' (HEA) the romance genre promises, look elsewhere. Even if a book is part of a series, each book should end with a small HEA. Ending a book in the middle of a scene where everything is going horribly wrong is just bad planning and writing. Could have ended it a couple scenes earlier where everything was hopeful and then used the last scene as opening drama.

Which is sad because I thought the book was fairly good. Yes, the main character was a bit whiny and too reflective on the past for my taste, but it was tolerable. I would have given the book at least 4 stars. However, dropping it down to one star shows how disappointed the ending left me.

One wild ride!

What a great new series this is! It does end with a cliffhanger that made me want to throw my phone out the window but just because it’s that good. Poor Alexis, after four men break in to the hospital she is in she finds out everything about her life is a lie. She is rescued by four hot wood Shifters so there is that! The storyline is unique and well written and Laurel Schroeder does an amazing job with the narration. I can’t wait for the next book

Wolf Hunted

What starts as a nice and calm book turns into a book with action and so much turmoil you don’t know which way is up. I definitely enjoyed this book and the cliffhanger has me begging to know what happens next. Narration was great as well.

Fabulous Story & Audible Listen🎧

I loved this book, is well written, well told and a great start to a new series. The storylines are original and immediately captured my attention and held it to the end. Sadie Moss creates a wonderful, imaginative world, with equally imaginative characters. Shifters are kept imprisoned in a medical facility under false pretenses. They are being used for medical tests and experiments. A number of shifters have rebelled and escaped over the years, some chose to live in hiding amongst themselves others amongst the humans in society. Alexis lived in one of these facilities since she was 10 years old, under the pretense that she was ill and was under their care. One day, hell breaks loose, four armed men break in searching for someone who may be held prisoner there. They do not find who they are looking for but do see Alexis and take her with them. Turns out these four are a pack of wolf shifters, Rhys, Jackson, Noah and West, who escaped another facility but Rhys’s sister was left behind and they made it there mission to find her. Alexis dreamed of going outside the facility for years, but not quite like this. She soon learns her whole life was a lie, even the person who claimed to be her Mom was a lie. Alexis stays with them as they are on the run from the company that runs those labs. It is an experience for her as she gets to know the guys, learn about shifting and about herself. I really liked Alexis and the pack, each have different personality. She is developing feelings for them and they for her. I highly recommend this book, it offers it all, action, drama, angst, some suspense and a slow burn to romance. Thank you for this great story, I hope the 2nd book becomes available soon on Audible.

I listened to the Audible edition, Laurel Schroeder is an amazing narrator and voice performer. She brings the characters to life, gives each their own unique voice and personality. She is a skilled and entertaining storyteller, a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for another great listen🎧
