Summary

Having magic is a blessing from the gods, and they gave me an especially powerful gift when they made me a Spell Traveler. Now if only I could use it properly without randomly teleporting, falling, and inevitably crashing into important people!

As the youngest member of the renowned Harlow family, I, Brianne Marie Harlow, have some big shoes to fill. With amazing parents on the magic council and a sister who works for Witchling Star Agency, I’m determined to prove that I can meet the expectations of our family name.

I hope.

Getting accepted into Witchling Academy isn't the problem, given my gift. But surviving in a school filled with witches and warlocks? That is a whole other dilemma. My game plan? Focus on learning, do my homework, and speak to no one - except for my best friend, Elijah, who I secretly have a crush on.

What could go wrong? Turns out, everything.

On the first day of classes, I managed to piss off the leader of the Notorious Four, a group of hot boys with their eyes all on me. As if that weren’t bad enough, now I’m getting death threats and random men are chasing me after school, trying to steal my power.

Now I only have two goals. One, survive long enough to graduate and make my family proud. With craziness and danger coming at me left and right, it's up to me and Elijah - with the help of N4 - to find a way to make it out alive.

Goal number two? Manage not to fall in love with all five boys in the process.

Love these characters, and great narration

You know what, and this is going to sound really odd and I hope it's not a spoiler, but I really like the way that Brianne is treated and her complete innocence towards certain parts of life. I don't think that that element of things is overplayed either, it fits really well into the story. It also makes it quite an unusual one compared to all those I have read before. I love the characters and I love the story and I can't wait for the next installment to see how things play out. Lacy Laurel brings the characters to life so beautifully.

Let this audio put a spell on you

Book 1 in the series. This reverse harem story will have you glued right till the end. The characters are strong , stubborn and know their place in life . The Harlowe family has a strong family background, that is respected. Heroine is Brianne. Brianne has a rare witching gift , she can Spell Travel. Brianna is accepted into an academy that her best friend, but also her crush is at Elijah. Little does she know that things are going downhill. It starts slowing when Elijah starts to act weird and pulling away . He’s distant. Bri wonders why. But then her mind is taken up with 4 hot guys in her dorm and she’s roommates with one of them. Bri starts getting nasty mail thrown into her locker . They are threatening her life . The 4 hot guys are there but Bri is keeping the letters away from their notice. Grab it and find out why doesn't Elijah want her anymore. How far will the guts protect her . Lacy Laurel performance was great. She has a very soothing, strong voice. She did all the characters great

Witchling Academy

What could be better than going to a school to learn more about and how to control magical powers?..... Four hot guys that are assigned as your roommates and become great friends/protectors. I loved this book and the ending was just perfect. Hopefully the next in this series will be available soon.

Naive Witch & The Notorious Four

This was a really great start to The Spell Traveler Chronicles! Brianne Harlow has some big shoes to fill in the magical world. After being accepted into Witchling Academy, all she wants to do is study, make passing grades, and stay to herself, keep out of everyone’s way. Of course, that’s all easier said than done because she manages to run into Jax, the leader of the Notorious Four, has guys chasing her around school, horrible rumors are being spread about her, and she’s receiving death threats from people who want her power. Bri is a little naive, but since she’s actually only sixteen, it makes since. She’s a complete bookworm, totally clueless when it comes to boys, and doesn’t have much experience or knowledge of the world she actually lives in and the danger it holds. The Notorious Four, Connor, Finnick, Jax, and Kaito, have a bad reputation at the school, have rare abilities, and end up taking Bri under the wing. I liked watching the relationships she had with each guy in the Notorious Four form and they were all very protective of her and stuck with her through everything that she went through. We learn most about Brianne and Jax within this book and I hope we learn more about the world and the rest of her harem in future installments. Elijah, her best friend, was honestly such a disappointment and let down throughout the story for all of the history that they had. I enjoyed that this book was more about different powers than different races like most academy book and I loved learning about each one. Lucy did a really good job with this narration! She gave each character their own voice, but I feel like some of the male voices were a little hard to listen to. Her performance portrayed all of the emotions well, especially Brianne’s, and brought each character’s personality to life. @AudiobookObsession *I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Witchling Academy

This was a first book for me by Avery Song. It was well written but a bit slow paced. This is a YA book about a witch named Brianne she is attending academy 2 years before she should, has little control of her powers, and comes from a well known magic family with hopes to fill the shoes she follows. She is sweet and innocent (if not a bit naive and over protected) and trying to figure her way around her new peers. This is a second audio performance by Lacy Laurel that i've had the chance to listen to and I enjoyed it very much, looking forward to other audios by her. #AudiobookObsession 🎧AudiobookObsession

YA, Young Love and Younger Witch

This is a Young Adult story about a teen finding herself a little dorky among peer pressures of school, a surname she lives in the shadows of family members, and a gift she doesn't quite have control of. This book started a little slow for me, but as soon as I teleported in...or should I say spell traveled into the characters and valuable life lessons Brianne learns who her friends really are. Brianne's innocence is relatable when discovering yourself as a teen at any age, and she makes you want to be apart of her "leave it to Beaver" family. Albeit rooming with the Notorious 4, a group of hot guys who all the girls want in school is odd for some family norms, it seems to be ok in Brianne's world until rumours begin to fly and on top of it, she getting death threats; no thanks to her old BFF Elijah who has turned his back on her. I really enjoyed this story and Lacy Laurel does a fantastic job bringing angst, worry, and empathy in her voice to each of the characters. Book one has a cliff hanger and the only reason why I gave "Story 4 stars" is because it's a cliff hanger and there are 6 other books after this one but none on audio :( I hope the others come out on audio soon.

Has potential but seems a bit lacking

The main character, Brianne, is young and ahead of her magic peers, allowing her into the academy two years earlier than most. She is portrayed as innocent, but comes across as more oblivious when it comes to relationships/sexual situations. I would have enjoyed learning more about the characters; I felt the story itself was a bit slow. Note: There are several other books in the series, so maybe these things resolve themselves there. Lacy Laurel narrated the story well. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Great Academy story

I’ve really enjoyed Brianne and her misadventures due to her uncontrolled spell traveling ability. She is sweet and timid which makes people think she’s a rug sometimes but push her too far and you will find she can and will take care of herself. The narration on this was just ok I really disliked it at the beginning but it grew on me as I went. Still totally worth it.

Witchling Academy

Enjoyed this first book of this series. Liked getting to know all the characters. Brianna May be young and inexperienced but her she is smart and determined. The more I got to know the notorious 4 the more I like each one. Look forward to the next book. 🎧 audio obsession

Great book with great narration

While this is the first book I read by Avery Song, I have already read quite a few series written under her other name Yumoyori Wilson. I love most of her books and it's no surprise that I loved Witchling Academy. I love the fact she also releases books on audible now, which is a big plus for me. Listening + chores = win-win! The narrator did a great job! ___ Brianne is a young, gifted witchling accepted at Witchling Academy at a younger age then most. Together with her best friend and secret crush Elijah she goes to the Academy where she meets Jax, Kaito, Connor and Finnick aka the Notorious Four. While their reputation implies otherwise, they are very protective and kind guys, who immediately take a liking to Brianne. This, however, doesn't sit well with Elijah, who slowly distances himself from Brianne. ___ I liked the characters a lot. Brianne is very smart when it comes to studying, but naive and slower when it comes to matters of life. A contradiction that sometimes feels weird, but is explained by the fact she is younger and grew up with only Elijah as a friend, studying magic most of the time. ___ The world is set, the characters are introduced and we get the academy feel with the typical bullies etc. I can't wait to learn more of the MC's background stories!

Annoyed

I hate that so many books on here only have one book here, but have like 5 in the series. It's a total buz kill when I can't go to the next book in the series because it isn't available on audible. I dont have time to read the books while I'm at work, so I really like that I can listen to them.

Fantastic new series you won’t want to miss!

Witchling Academy What happens when you and your BFF are both accepted into the top Witchling Academy? Should be the beginning of a wonderful year, but instead of the fantasy that Brianne Marie Harlow looked forward to, her dreams start crumbling before her eyes. Between her friends betrayal and multiple death threats, Brianne shows that she is strong enough to step out of the shadows and embrace the magic and new friendships that she now has. Brianne knows that if she wants to move forward she must make some hard choices, but will she pick the friend she’s known since she was young? Or will she move forward with those who are willing to accept her and her oddities as she is? Pick up this book now, and be prepared to read it all in one sitting....this is a fantastic book you won’t want to miss!

Great but

Ok first I have to say awesome series I do like academy books, now reason why I gave it such a low score first it is so unbelievable how 2 best friends who grew up together and pretty much slept at each other’s house just had a falling out like that over dumb rumors I’m sorry but it makes the whole thing unbelievable that they were as close as the other said in the beginning I understand she wanted to build up to the heroine falling for the fab 4 but the way she fell out of her love for her child hood friend made her seem shallow and just unrealistic the other obviously didn’t put much thought into a 16 or so year love friendship that I could snap so easily without thought and made the book stupid and unrealistic she should have put more thought into her story building other then that I like the magic theory

Sooo BAD

There is nothing good about this book!! It is written for teenagers but reads more like 10 and the story line is so self centered and ultra snobbish that I wanted to gag. The whole focus is “like totally “ dumb!! Every line is clearly about sex (the way someone looks, dresses, what they wear). No character development!! Very bad writing, the reader is flat and not convincing

Hooked in the 1st chapter..

i loved this so much! Bri is so sweet and yes super innocent but it’s part of what make her great and helps hide how powerful she truly is. And those guys ugh so hot! I can’t wait to see what powers they have and if Bri is going to have more powers ooo and what kind of familiar she’ll have! So many questions I can not wait for the next one!!!! I recommend this listen and cant wait for more..🎧AudiobookObsession
