Summary

The future has amazing technology. Our alien allies have magic. Together, we are building a training system to teach the best of humanity to go to the stars. But the training is monumentally expensive. Stephanie Morgana is a genius, she just doesn't know it. The artificial intelligence that runs the virtual world is charged with testing Stephanie, a task it has never performed before. Will Stephanie pass the test and be moved to the advanced preparatory schools, or will the system miss her? Will the AI be able to judge a human's potential in an area where it has no existing test data to compare?

"little man can't get ahead" gets ahead

after 2 and a half hours I am returning this book

the world building and narration is very well done but the author is really pushing class warfare from the start of the book.

the rich boy is a ugly skinny jerk who gets everything handed to him and can be as mean as he likes and still get into the school

the poor, pretty, in shape girl who is oh by the way a genius will grovel in poverty cleaning rich peoples toilets just to not starve while they did nothing to earn their wealth.

do you think she will stay that way though? nope she gets ahead on her own merits just like 80% of every adult rich person on the planet.

I understand this is a teen book and written from the prospective of a teenager but it is also written for teenagers and I really don't like the idea that they will read this book and think magic is their only way out of poverty (meaning no way)

all in all if the rich people hate was toned down maybe a little bit this would have been worth reading but as it stands...pass.

Too Much Political pushing

Far to much pushing of political. The author push it every chance he gets. Its fine if its not throw in your face but this book does it way too much.
