About this listen
Killing machines. Shadow organizations. A desperate attempt to stay sane.
After failing the most important exam of his life, Kyle is forced into a VR war. Now, he fights on the front lines as cannon fodder for what he always assumed was the government, losing a little part of his memories with every virtual death.
When the mission he’s on goes wrong, Kyle is stranded on a planet far from his original destination. Finally given a chance to make an impression in the organization, Kyle will have to risk his mind for a chance at salvation.
If he fails, he'll lose all will to resist: making him the perfect soldier.
Winter Harvest is audiobook one of four in the Space Seasons series, a LitRPG sci-fi space opera set on another world with mechs, spaceships, levels, and...well...pure evil.

Amazing

The story is solid, the pacing is spot on and the characters are likeable. Some of the interactions between the characters are hilarious.
It's refreshing to read a story that doesn't shy away from emotions.
The only thing that felt a bit off for me were the mechanics. The way some skills work doesn't always makes sense. Nothing major and definitely not a deal-breaker. All in all its a great book.
An emotional rollercoaster

In places it is very dark, the author handles these sections very well and keeps the emotion intense .
The action is intense and well described and narrated fluently to keep the adrenalin going.
The story itself kept me second guessing and to ve honest I still really have little clue on how the plot will develop, this is good.
However, it can be overcomplicated in places with reems of stats that at times get in the way and are very complex.
The game system is detailed but I feel the book would be enhanced by finding a way in many instances to skip or abridge them.
Overall a good book and I look forward to Book 2
Great book with promise
