Summary

Motherless and raised alongside her brothers, Alanah, a Canaanite, is no stranger to fighting. When her father and brothers are killed in battle with the Hebrews, she disguises herself and sneaks onto the battlefield to avenge her family. The one thing she never counted on was surviving.

Tobiah, a Hebrew warrior, has spent his share of time on the battlefield and is shocked to find an unconscious woman among the casualties. Compelled to bring her to a healer back at the Hebrew camp, he's unprepared for the consequences of what he intended as an act of compassion.

In order to survive, Alanah must unite with her enemy. But will a terrible revelation drive her toward an even greater danger?

Superb Series and I loved every one..

Loved how all the characters knitted together so well over this series. It brought the exodus story alive and new angles to think about. Thank you for the story and great narration

Very predictable

I like the biblical theme, but this book was too predictable so I gave it a 4.

Sad to see the series end.....

This is an excellent book to end an incredible series. Alanah's story is much different from the other 2 books. It is exciting, from start to finish. Another 10-star book! We highly recommend this series and this author!

Great story!

The narration by Sarah Mollo-Christensen was excellent! She even performed great male-sounding voices! However, when the chapters were narrated only by Tim Campell, it was pretty awful! He sounded pretentious and mocking, like he was trying to over-dramatize some high school Shakespearean play! Just awful. One of the other reviewers said he was creepy. I don't know if I would go as far as creepy, but I would preferred Sarah Mollo-Christensen to narrate the male voices. Anyway, moving on from the narration, the story was really, really good! I learned so much and there were plenty of surprises.

Fantastic story

This book brought the Bible to life!! An astounding capture of what may have happened in the years of wandering for the Israelites. This whole series is intricately woven into an engaging and lively story. I HIGHLY recommend this!!! Can’t wait to read/listen more!

Creative license

Many authors claim creative license for grossly inaccurate heresies. I am highly impressed and touched by the beauty, plausibility and courage of Ms Cossette's trilogy. I am impressed and inspired and pray others read these books and re-discover the present day "manna" of the Word... (What a great reminder!)

Love the story

I really enjoyed this book, however the voice of Tim was distracting. I wouldn’t mind his voice if he spoke all the male characters ONLY and Sarah did the females. But having them interchange between the characters were not pleasant and took away from the experience. Other then that I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to hear a story not surrounded by sex or supernatural creatures; and inspired by biblical events.
