Summary

The fifth in the saga of the Provincetown Tales. The winds of fortune are fickle guides…and happiness or heartbreak may be the destination. For Provincetown local Deo Camara, the only winds that have ever blown her way have been cold and lonely, and she doesn't expect things to improve when she is drawn into a family crisis against her will. Despite a decade of estrangement, however, Deo can't turn her back on the call of blood, no matter how high the price in heartache.

Dr. Bonita Burgoyne is pleased with the changes she's made in her life…she has a rewarding new job and is looking forward to renovating the historic sea captain's house she has just purchased. She's content, and that's all she needs to be, or so she thinks until she hires Deo to head up the renovations. They have nothing in common except a shared legacy of betrayal by those they'd trusted the most, and an impossible attraction they would both prefer to ignore.

Meanwhile, Bonita's new associate Dr. Tory King and her partner, Reese Conlon, must cero with the aftermath of the winds of war and the approaching fury of a very real gathering storm.

great addition to the series

A lot of this story from the Provincetown series is set around two new female characters. A new doctor who joined to assist Tory (with a haunting relationship issue from the past) and owner of a small local construction company. Its good to introduce new characters and relationships in the series. Nelson has a heart attack and Bree and Caroline continue their infatuation with each other. Reese saves the day again (of course). Its a good story, and the new characters are interesting, however Deo (the construction worker) - reminds me a lot of firefighter Beau Cross from Radclyfe's Trama Alert. In anycase, it kept me interested in the story, the narrator Nicol Zanzarella is exceptional. Anyone reading or listening to this who does not know Radclyffe or this series, should start with the first book (although each book can be read independently). Not the best in the series so far, but up there.

very Radclyffe....

This very Radclyffe story continues the Provincetown series. Very Radclyffe means action and LOTS of sex, as opposed to love making! The author seems to describe the sex scenes as quite rough with phrases that you'd associate with male lovers ? I like the continuing tales of this 'very busy' town, maybe a little less 'sex' and more depth to the whole storyline ?

Arse f***ing without hand washing was a turn-off

The hurricane was OK although some characters make me wish Provincetown had been washed away by it. Also good that the book features black people / people of colour However, the rest, including the sex, was either boring due to repetition or a big turn-off.

The author, Radclyffe, is/was apparently a plastic surgeon and should be aware of hygiene so, to include anal foreplay without any hand washing afterwards was disturbing, gave a very bad example to young people and seriously bugged me.

Nicole Z is a disappointing narrator for the Provincetown books. I usually enjoy her narration but in this series she repeatedly forgets which accent and/or tone and/or pitch she gave to each character then gets muddled and vacillate between a few before giving up all together. Irritatingly, this meant I often found that I had no idea who was speaking / thinking - a bad fault in an audiobook.

One thing NZ did do well in this book was to tone down the appalling fake Irish accent she had previously given Nelson. Althought he does not feature much in this one anyway so it does not really matter.

OH MY GOODNESS!

I'm getting through these books so fast. I read this in one night, I couldn't put it down.
I am 60 but, if I could have my time over again, I'd try to find a place like Princetown to settle and, hopefully, find love.
Radcliffe paints each characters personality brilliantly.
Now I'm going to crack on with the next in the series.

Ok, but not as good as some of the others

To be honest there was just too much rehashed sex. It felt like so little plot, but a sex scene waiting for the next sex scene. I enjoy the series, but this one was weak.

fear

another great book in series, as Radclyffe seamlessly writes new characters into the lives of Provincetown, deo sleeps around not letting anyone get close punishing herself for her brothers death, nita won't give herself to anyone after a long affair tears her family apart, but the spark and undeniable chemistry between them is Impossible to fight, tori fights to bring reeces' soul back, and all within the disastrous hurricane which hit the North East causing devastation to the people who lived there. and beautifully narrated once again
